I don't think that Leanne actually takes Dev to court in the end, Leanne chickens out after too much pressure from Maya. I can see where you're coming from with the comparason to Cilla, however, even though the idea of suing is the same, I think that's where all likenesses end. I've always got the impression that Leanne has never wanted things to go as far as court, but she is under a lot of pressure from Maya to take things further, which has undoubtedly influenced her.
Keith Duffy is rubbish when Ciaran is given a larger part, his acting is 100% laughable. I can't see the restaurant working - both as a business and as as setting for characters. The place will not be frequented by many Weatherfield residens, and I just can't see it fitting into the Street long-term. It would have been much, much better to have kept the place as a wine bar, providing a more casual atmosphere in which characters could be involved.”
I don't remember too much of the Joe Carter stuff, as I found him so repulsive I could hardly bear to watch him taking her away from lovely Steve

But yes she is extraordinarily lovely with minimal makeup, and last night it made such a contrast with Tracy's painted mask.
Yeh I think you're right about Leanne not going through with it, but then again neither did Cilla, she 'dropped the charges' although a bit too late. I just think it's very contrived - Leanne just walked into the shop and started touching him up. That just didn't ring true, given both their circumstances. She even has the ghastly wig and dress sense that Cilla has, along with some of the gurning - a couple of times in scenes she has really reminded me of her. And not in a good way. And the way Dev had a go at her last night - that didn't ring true either, although maybe it's just his acting
If Keith D is just handing out pints in the Rovers with the odd quip, he's perfectly fine, but as you say give him something more important to do and he is completely hopeless. I gather they gave him this storyline in order to persuade him to stay. Why on earth did they WANT him to stay though?? You're right about the restaurant being a tactical mistake - a wine bar would have fitted into Street culture much better. Only Mike goes out to restaurants more than once a year! It also LOOKED much better originally, the new restaurant decor etc is awful, I don't know if that is supposed to reflect Ciaran's general crapness or what.
