Phone not recognising any sim card

My son has a Galaxy Apollo i5801 (about 8 months old) today it has started to say No Service, I tried putting my sim card in and my husbands but it is still saying No Service. Any idea what's wrong with it or how to go about fixing it.

Many thanks for any replies.

No service usually means no signal. Are you all on the same network? If so try another network sim in it if its unlocked. If not try cleaning the sim pins if you can. If not that fails then the phone may have died on you.

Thanks for response, we are all on Orange. I will try with another network when I go round my mums later and clean the pins. I was hoping that it had locked itself, it's an expensive phone that won't be getting replaced to quickly.

Have you not been aware / accepted the Orange offer to use T-Mobile as backup ?

Orange will have texted you a while back.

My Orange phone seems to spend most of it's time on T-Mobile since then.

I don't know if my son got a text about this, I don't remember accepting anything myself for my phone, it just started coming up TMobile. How would I go about doing that now as I can't access any texts services as it says No Service.

Ring Orange on 0800 801 080

Big question, does your Orange phone & SIM card work at home ?

His SIM in your phone ?

Yep, his sim card works in my husbands phone, my sim and my husbands sim do not work in his phone. All the phones work at home, accept of course the problem phone which was working.
