My oh was with me and did take a quick look down at the business end as our son was being born and promptly burst into tears. Up until then he'd been fine, but I was fortunate mine only took four hours from start to finish, and he did start to panic when medical staff realised things were happening far quicker than they bargained for. Sounds as though Aaron's experience was far more traumatic.
As my brother in law (who was present for both of his boys, under duress) said, "It would be so much easier if they came cellophane wrapped."
