I am thinking of going for BTV.
I am wondering if there are subtitles on the ON Demand programs and films

How can I keep subtitles on permant?
all I can do is press theSHORTCUT button on the bottom right corner of the remote, then select subtitles on but when change channels the subtitles are turned off again so I have to get it switch on again,
Surely there must be an option in the setting menu but I can not find it.
Anyone know where?

Souriau, I don't think there is a permanent fix. You will need to switch on the subtitles for each channel.

Other STB does have an option to switch on always in the setting menu
I am just surprised that BT Vision, Pace, STB doesn't seem to have that, must ring BT Vision technicial and ask.
I just hate ringing them as I find it difficult to understand their accent from India and with poor hearing does not help at all...

Souriau, the basic design of the Vision Box is over 5 years old and newer boxes do have these add ons. Perhaps the new Vision Box next year will catch up with functions which are now regarded as basic.

Good luck with Vision technical. I too find their knowledge quite basic.

Subtitles is now working on the BTV black box.
I contacte BT Vision CS for this and they said will look into it, that was last November and now is working with the last update with new colour scheme.
Now there is a subtitles setting in the menu for having it on always.
All I need now is subtitles for on-demand programs an films.

Yes - there is a global setting. Go to

Settings->General Settings->Subtitles

Select subtitles ON and then choose your preferred language.

This will switch on subtitles whenever you change channel. The popup menu via the Shortcuts button only affects the current channel, so it can only be used for temporary subtitle enable/disable.

If you don't have the subtitles option in the general settings menu then report your client version here and I'll compare it to mine.
