EastEnders 20th Anniversary will be in February, can't remember exactly what date. Im looking forward to the storylines for that. One potential spoiler that was mentioned was a fire at the Fowler's in which Derek perishes.

The 15th Annversary special was brilliant, I hope the 20th is just as good if not better

An unexploded bomb from World War 2 was found in Bridge Street and the bomb squad and police flooded Albert Square to keep the residents locked indoors. The bomb was apparently near some gas lines and had it blown up, Bridge Street and indeed half the Square would have been taken out.

IN an hour long special the majority of the residents were all locked into the Queen Vic under police supervision. During the hour the big storylines of the time all played out, with grudges boiling to the surface, one or two fist fights and Ian being exposed to Auntie Pauline that he lied about his daughters illness to keep Mel married to him, this happened after an argument in the ladies turned nasty and Pauline slapped Mel.

Lisa and Phil spent the night trying to avoid each other whilst Phil lost his temper and ended up in punching match, can't remember who with. Meanwhile in the celler Steve Owen was having a breakdown, this was just after Matthew Rose had gotten out of jail and tortured Steve in his club. He was comforted by Pat. Peggy and Frank announced they were selling the Vic, and Dot was knocked unconcious when a controlled explosion rocked the Vic, sending Dot flying over a table.

Eventually the bomb was found and they were all let go home, with Dot and Pauline at the end remarking it was 15 years to the day that Den and Arthur found the old dead guy who was found in the very first EastEnders epi.

i think the 20th anniversary special may include

* a huge fire at paulines in which derek dies
* At the end of the episode Peggy and Grant will return and see the fire and all the changes and have a great entrance line, right at the end of the episode. Summat along the lines of "were back"

if they destroy the beale/fowler home - they really are sh*tting on the whole history of the show.

EASTENDERS stars are furious over a new TV show in which viewers will vote for their favourite character.

The BBC1 soap’s biggest names hate the idea because it will also reveal who is the LEAST liked.

Britain’s Best EastEnder will be screened next February to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary.

A spokeswoman for EastEnders said: “The show is a bit of fun to celebrate our anniversary and many of the cast members will be involved.”

Its not shitting on the history of the show if they burn down the Fowler house, its a big dramatic storyline with The Fowlers at the centre of it all, just like they were when EastEnders began. Its a house, not a religious monument, you're just being critical for the sake of it. I'm sure the fire won't be the only thing going on during the EastEnders 20th either. I'm looking forward to it.

Plus The Vic is more of a central base for the characters and that has been burnt down before!

Exactly, and during the 15th it was rocked by an explosion. The most dramatic storylines are disaster storylines that involve characters who have been there from the beginning. Its not like they are being killed off or any thing
