Hi Wendy

I'm reading that your dad was a bit better - has he been poorly over the weekend??
Yes had doctor out to him again, his speech was slurred but he hadn't had a stroke and was sleeping a lot, deep sleep. His speech is normal today and he says he feels less sleepy. At the age of 90 its sporadic so tomorrow could be back to square one again.

Evening everyone, rain has arrived, but the sunshine was wonderful while it lasted

Kay I would come to your island with you only on the condition that the climate was like Spring

and i could convert you to positive pollyness.

How that for a deal.

I think my bum is slowly edging its way onto the bench again.

Hooray.

Hi everybody. As you seemed to quite like my poem the other day I thought I might let loose another one on you. Apologies in advance for having to shorten Josie's name to Jose in a couple of places but it fitted better and after all John did it often enough.
I have been at work all day and haven't managed to read anything on twitter or the thread so apologies if anything has happened today to make my poem irrelevant, untimely, out of date etc. I will go and catch up once I have posted this.
Cheers
Lyn

The Positive Polly Handbook

It's the highs and the lows, the ups and the downs
The great beaming smiles and the sad-faced frowns.
It's feeling the pain even though it's not yours
But hoping for good news --the best of course
It's thinking the Notebook is written for them
With every appropriate suitable gem.
It's believing each horoscope posted is true
And fitted exactly to our beloved two

It's waking up early to see if John's tweeted
Then spending the day feeling down and defeated.
And wondering if Josie is awaiting this too.
How much much more painful for her than for you.
It's staring at Josie pics looking so fine
And wondering if John's thinking 'that once was mine
It's seeing her wearing the watch and the ring
And imagining meanings that just make you sing.

It's worrying about John who is no longer here
And hoping he's happy and taking good care.
But secretly thinking he must be so down
Away from his love . He'll be wearing a frown.
And thinking of Josie alone in her bed
(I'm not with the plumber it's got to be said)
As she wakes in her bed and reaches for John
And then to remember that pleasure has gone

It's waiting for Carole to return from the weekend
To give you a boost and your spirit to mend
It's relying on Wendy to keep you upbeat
And seated quite firmly on Lover's bench seat
To throw you a cushion when you're feeling the pain
When positive thoughts are so hard to sustain.
When some of your colleagues are giving up hope
As they struggle with no news--it's so hard to cope.

It's skipping quite quickly through some people's posts
That are negative messages from well-meaning hosts
But getting quite angry if they try to say
That you should give up your hope and call it a day
When all's said and done when they get in a stew
They really don't know anything more than you
They may feel we're silly and that is their right
But we really won't yield to their will without fight.

It's taking in Cheeky's transcripts from BB
And remembering the good times we watched on TV
And knowing without doubt their love was so deep
There's really no question our faith we must keep
It's watching the YouTubes the clips Daily Motion
As though they're producing your life giving potion
To relive the memories all over once more
As you know the result as Jose runs out the door

It's not being able to eat cheese on toast
Without being reminded of that invisible ghost
It's watching on BBots as Jose plays the game
And 'Five' throw in mentions of John for the fame
And dreaming that one day just for a surprise
The guest scorer is John right in front of our eyes
Its seeing new housemates in the new Big Brother
And feeling let down as its not like the other

Its looking for signs in our everyday life
That will bring us good luck and save us from strife
Its saluting the magpies and looking for two
For the joy that might bring for our chosen two
Some say that we're foolish---perhaps we are mad
Some days we are happy and some oh so sad
But we keep right on hoping that before too much time
They'll get back together---and there endeth my rhyme.

Yep but it doesn't last long enough

You didn't come and vent on the thread then
Can't imagine you with an argumentative head on you. You're always so calm and reasonable. But there you go - kids just wind you up something rotten. I know. I've had an argumentative day with daughter.
You see none of you know the reaaal me - I can go - don't you worry - I am a virgo after all.

However, I only really lose it when I argue with someone I am really close to - that's how I know the love was still deep between JJJ - because NO way would they lose their temper with each other - if they didn't care about each other.

If there was nothing there - they wouldn't have cared less about what the other one thought

Hello Kay How was your first day back at work.
Millions of students everywhere LOL. The uni runs much better without them

Now, Eileen, I'm going to ask you a question. When you moved to Ireland, you did know, didn't you, that it IS one of the wettest parts of these islands, along with the Lake District, Scotland and Manchester?

Hooray.
I say it's a tropical island but I'm like you - can't take the heat. I used to love it but ever since I had children, I can't cope so it would have to be a tropical island with a moderate temperature - and preferably not much rain apart from the odd sprinkling.
So, you won't be joining us then, because I will never be a positive polly - not in relation to JJJ anyway. Actually I am a positive polly but just for them as individuals in their separate lives or whatever makes them happy.

Yes had doctor out to him again, his speech was slurred but he hadn't had a stroke and was sleeping a lot, deep sleep. His speech is normal today and he says he feels less sleepy. At the age of 90 its sporadic so tomorrow could be back to square one again.

It's a hard life when you're getting on a bit I'm sure!! 90 is a ripe old age isn't it?

Wonderful - guess I've got to now think of what to do with my part 3???
