The programme did feel like there wasn't anything she could pull them up on really. I noticed an early comment about the cleanliness when she wiped the top of a mirror but really, who worries about a mirror with a smear near the ceiling in such a cheap hotel - it obviously was well cared for and clean. The whole thing didn't really go anywhere.

And from the website it looks like they still have complimentary brew tackle and cushions in the rooms! They just put the prices up - which made the most sense anyway.

This is normal for a hotel, they don't have launder them themselves that way or replace etc.

What got me was the voume of towels he had.

Either way that man was a pain in the bottom, even with his wife. They didn't need alex they needed a business expert to come in and break their costs down

Maybe tolerant non-gays are likely to jump to your defence and are more indignant on your behalf than you are - that's quite funny, but certaily reassuring.

Alex seemed to have really lost the plot - she should have concentrated on some better budgeting, added value products/services they could charge extra for & some more tangible events/packages.
All that arguing about cushions & towels was frankly ridiculous & irrelevant. At the end of the day - it wasn't a budget airline, it was a budget hotel! People expect hotels to provide towels & I agree totally with the owner, all the grief from not providing them just isn't worth the extra quid! And as for the cushions - they had already bought them, so why get rid of them?

Alex missed a good opportunity to go through other more significant expenditure & suggest savings, plus come up with some serious money-making ideas - of which there were plenty.

I think the programme has been dumbed down to an all-time low & has just become an ego trip for Alex & her boobs.
Country House Rescue is very similar, IMO.
I couldn't figure that one out either. How do you save money by throwing away something you already own? Unless people steal them and they have to replace them.

I think it was more of a way of Alex putting her stamp on the rooms.

There wasn't really much Alex could do for them though. With the hotel being fully occupied and them still loosing money, the only obvious thing to do is put up the prices. Even the lounge/event area looked ok to me, it just needed heating.

I thought the previous series was Alex's final series, has that changed now?

How the hell does he have planning permission for that structure out the back, it being such a lengthy "work in progress" and all?

I was brought up in Edgware and I can't believe they got planning permission to open a hotel in that road........mind you it;s nearly thirty years since I lived there. Obviously things have changed

That is one hideously ugly hotel.

Boring episode, though. It's best when there is someone who really butts heads with Alex.

So many half-arsed 'projects' going on there - someone needs to start paying attention to the hotel business instead of bricklaying.

However, Alex is looking better than ever!

That hotel's a couple of miles down the road from me, always driven past it. I want a closer look.

Family seemed nice.

They seemed like a nice family and Alex certainly gave the breakfasts a thumbs-up.

The hotel clearly needed a make-over though - it was a little on the grotty side!

I live in Edgware and it's a totally pointless place to have a 12 room hotel like that. Who would the hotel be catering for? The area is just boring suburbia with a shopping centre and few other businesses (solicitors, estate agents, a few restaurants and some cheap high street shops). At least if you are situated near the sea or in the sticks there might be some point to it.

There's hardly any parking space at that hotel either (not even mentioned). That Cypriot family sadly seems to be on a financial hiding to nothing I'm afraid.

Far too many staff not doing enough at this one. I am still shocked at the £50 shower curtains!
