Eastenders did seem much better with Peggy there.

At first I thought her return could be a bit of a let down but was'nt.

Minty not opening his month. Why does that happen a lot in EE. He had lots of chances to tell Peggy anything, but she always interrupts and he is left looking stupid.

The obligatory chase to stop the wedding (again)
The whole thing was pretty bad. I am sure Barbara Windsor is longing for the old days of her, Phil and Grant instead of what she is having to do now.”

I agree with all what you have wrote above. No way would Sam or Peggy have agreed to Dennis being Andy's best man. Phil is now on the run because he was set up by Den and Dennis. Sam was involved with burning down the club, would Den's wife and daughter really have attended her wedding? Zoe not long ago found out what Andy had done to her mother. Has she got such a short memory? Lack of guests or not I just don't think that any of the above would realistically have attended that wedding.

Exactly. All of this about them being desperate to fill a church and having no friends or bridemaids or best man - just go to a registry office and pull a couple of witnesses in off the street instead of filling a church with people you barely know and people who have done you and your family wrong in the past.

When does Peggy return full time?

funny bit when Alfie hugged Peggy and she said careful with the wig, that had to be an ad-lib from Babs to Shane who obviously was having a little in joke with her

I think Peggy's return was overdone. She was a bit too over the top, I don't remember her being that way before.

Another thing that got me, is despite all the over the top greetings to the square residents, when Sal came in, it was like they were next door neighbours who saw each other just minutes ago....
A casual "hello Sal, come in."

If she's back for good soon, I hope she tones it down. Not that I watch EE much, but hey, just my thoughts...

It was crap, Peggys morphed from the poison dwarf into the Pantomime poison dwarf. - Has she been on the same acting course as Leslie Grantham - maybe thats what LB does on the side, she teachs drama

Pop Princess was just talking about how unrealistic the whole thing was - i'm not going to name names but just say that two posters on this thread (usernames begining with B and W) need to read things more carefully.

By the way Pop Princess - Andy does have family because they were at his first wedding - but i doubt they recast the same extras.

Andy and Sam don't have friends so whats the point of stag and hen nights.

I think a certain Bridesmaid - up staged the bride tonight

Another thing - Babs and Jessie's scene together - was the air frosty or what ??

Yes when I was asking those questions I did not mean that I wanted an explanation or examples of the scenes where it was discussed who was going to the church or scenes where people were asked to be bridesmaid and best man. I just meant it was unrealistic in general that those scenes were even written that way in the first place.

Half of the people who were there have done things against the Mitchells or held grudges against them for years. How realistic then is it for them to pitch up at the wedding and how realistic is it that Peggy would be fine with it all? Martin and Vicki being there were the worst examples and just implausible that they would be either welcomed or would even want to go in Vicki's case.

But I understand if people read my post differently and thought I was looking for explanations. I was just pointing out the bad plot holes.

Well, the Duchess of Windsor was always a little (well, a very little) dubious in the acting department. Nothing changed tonight. And yes, it felt overbaked (her non-reunion with former enemy Pat? unfortumnately I blinked and therefore missed it), and it could have done without having her meet-and-greet all the extras (why bother? her set-to with Ian in Kathy's was good, why waste so much time having these walking nobody's come up to her? a bulldog bark with Sharon would have been good). A shame too that a number of major characters who Peggy could/has had as rivals - Pauline and Den - have both been removed from the show.

But I enjoyed the episode. Although it had it's detrators, it was an episode I simply enjoyed. There were a number of funny little lines in there, mostly from Nana & Aunt Sal ("have you come back for your pension luvvie?"; "can't be any worse than that doughnut Ricky") and Pat's "not everyone who could have Zsa Zsa Gabor as a mother in law" was neat. I just enjoyed it. And the double bluff having the Millers (who I firmly like now) arrive at the church was good.

There are not married. It seems that they both sign on at the Job Centre as single people. The only thing I like about them is the fact that he likes TV documentaries. I thought she was turnmed down for the cleanerrs job when she wanted paying in cash or have i missed something.

I laughed like a drain at Nanna's line. I found the episode generally hit and miss. I loved Peggy running around the square like queen bee and especially the undertone that so much had gone on she didn't know about which totally undermined the position she has for herself in her head.

I found the Miller's storyline about the non-marriage a little forced, but I did LIKE the fact there were extras paid to be at the wedding that we didn't know. I prefer that to just the cast of people who hate each other being at the wedding - which it actually was. I'd have found it more believable if the wedding ceremony had been at a registry office (Sam is after all divorced) with just family (some of whom woudl be extras we didn't know) and then the reception with the Square residents.

Also how many Albert Street Weddings have to have the Red and White theme, wasn't that Kat and Andy's and Kat and Alfie's?

matt_Thecolin - Peggy HAD just seen Aunt Sal, she said when she arrived that she'd left Sal's early but Sal was getting a later train.

piston - Rosie agreed to work for beer.

I think she was great a bit over the top though.

I think she had already seen Sal or been staying with her...

I must admit I thought I was a fairly dreadful episode, badly written and not ringing true for one moment. Compared to the 'events' that previous EE weddings used to be, this was a complete non entity. I ended up quite annoyed I'd wasted half an hour on it.

The episode was neither good nor bad it was basically a non-event and another reason why Enders cannot sustain producing 4 episodes a week. What actually happened last night? Very little really. Basically they decided to dedicate the whole episode to Peggy's return which gave them an excuse to have her wandering around the Square playing catch up. Don't get me wrong, I like Peggy and having her around last night was like a breathe of fresh air amongst all the dross but I'm sick of all this minty & billy crap and I'm sick of characters never being allowed to say what they want.

Let's face it the whole episode was just a build up to tonights episode where Peggy finds out the truth about Andy.

As for The Millers, what a bunch of losers. I'm sorry, but how tiresome is it to see a such a pathetic bunch of layabouts. The kids just sitting there with their school unforms on watching telly with their Dad, it's just not appealing and reeks of old style Enders when they might have done the same thing with The Jacksons.

Finally if Vicki's boyfriend is also revealed to be the guy responsible for getting the Miller daughter up the duff, then wouldn't he have spotted her at the wedding.

Honestly please please please please please sack Louise Berridge.

It was the "We love Barbara Windsor show" last night and to be honest, put me off Eastenders even more. I have not watched Eastenders for months and thought I'd watch this as some people had been saying that the show was getting better, but that was nothing but a schmoozefest from the Easties producers to good old Babs.

Absolute mince

I would never have said I disliked her - I tolerated her before because I believed that the Peggy character was central, but Barbara Windor just does my t!ts in. Absolutely overrated

Can't stand her - actually, I preferred the first Peggy Mitchell, can't remember the name of the actress, but she was damm good in the role.

I found last night's episode to be all one mad rush. it was like because Peggy has been out for over a year, they tried to fit the last year into that half an hour slot. Last night was nothing really to do with Sam and Andy's wedding, but the return of Peggy (and I have to say I don't think we need her back). If I have to hear her going on about how no one messes with the Mitchell's blah blah blah, I think I will scream. Sorry if anyone disagree's but she is just not convincing enough for me.

....."Who were all those people hugging Peggy as she left the house? .......

i AGREE completely rediculious.

Since when was that woman (Ian employee who he fancies or she fancies him ...can't quite work it out) Sam's best friend so as to be her "matron of honor"??

Since Sam couldn't find anyone else and Andy wheeled Pat in to do the job. DO try to keep up!
