In the never ending storm of rumours that is Twitter, apparentley Gaga is planning the Born This Way Tour as a stadium show.

It would certainly sell and she could totally pull it off, but will she go for it?

Really? I like going to concerts at stadiums, depending on the artist. U2, for example, are awesome in stadiums.

I can just imagine the place shaking during the chorus of Bad Romance.

That song was made for stadiums.

Edge of Glory as a finisher in a stadium would be lethal.

I concur, judging by the album and themes, I think she'll open with MTN and finish with EOG.

It's not a rumour a respected tour company is stating at the moment it's just stadiums in the UK and the dates for the UK will be announced in a couple of weeks. Perfect timing for the holidays!

I have a dumb question to ask

What's the difference between an arena and a stadium.Does it have to do with the number of seats/the capacity or the stage?

An arena is indoors and smaller - the O2, for example.

A stadium is generally a sports ground - Wembley, for example.

Arena's generally hold around 20,000 people whereas stadiums can hold up to 80,000.

Here's the source if you want to put it into the first post?

As it's going to be a stadium tour which cities do you think she will perform in?

My guess is Manchester, London, Cardiff and Glasgow as she'll be going to new countries on this tour meaning some lesser cities i.e Liverpool and Sheffield may not have the show brought to them.

I think the biggest stadium in the world is in Mexico, and it holds about 115,000.

Thanks for the link to the source!

She better play Croke Park in Dublin. I-I-I Wanna Go-o-o, etc.

But, no kidding, this is a HUGE risk!I'm sure she can pull off about 40-50k people per venue, but 70-90k is a bit TOO much for a relatively new artist who had her 2nd and 4th single underperforming

From hustling clubs to rocking stadiums in 3 years. Pretty insane.

Bit hesitant over the sheer mass of the crowd and all the problems that brings...but imagining her music blasting through the speakers in a stadium with all those people singing along? Shit.

Yeah, I doubt she's silly enough to try for Rolling Stones numbers straight away.

It's a lady gaga fan crowd not a take that fan crowd!

But seriously, there could be some issues; I say at least 50 people passing out each night at best.

She better do up northwest. Old Trafford is almost a definite along with Wembley. Maybe she'll pick a few footie clubs in smaller but accessible areas like P!nk did last year to have a more balanced tour than just the capital cities and Manchester.

Naaa not really, the internet and digital age has given her almost instant exposure and besides Madonna played stadiums 3 years in with the 1987 Who's that girl tour so it's not like an act hasn't played the big venues early on before.

She will deffo sell and It wouldn't surprise me if she did a combo of stadiums and arenas like other acts do.

GaGa will be great in a stadium!

I just don't want to spend my life queuing to get a decent view.

I'd consider seats but they'll be miiiiiles away and more expensive. I don't want to see a speck in the distance bobbing up and down.

I'm hoping that there aren't enough Scottish stans to take up the entire front (don't mind about not being front row, although I'd love it). Then again, if she comes here, it'll be one show for the entire of Scotland...so...

It is pretty insane. There can only be a handful of acts who have risen so quickly and ferociously to these heights. She's in good company if freaking Madonna is one of said handful.

I agree that she should do a combo of stadiums and arenas. She'll be shortening her tour quite dramatically and restricting the places she goes if it's exclusively stadiums. I doubt she wants that.

That's actually AMAZING. Wow Gaga.
It is. If nothing else, I'm just picturing the sheer insanity of her production in a stadium context. I'm thinking a theatre-in-the-round is a high possibility.

I just found out on ATRL that she sold out 3 stadium shows in Mexico for The Monster Ball, so if the prices aren't too high (and the rumours are true), then she really could do it again.

I've been to 1 stadium for a live gig but stadiums in my country have a capacity of 20,000 people, so... How are the stadiums in the UK??Do they have seats??Are they divided into sections depending on the stage?? (maybe the questions are daft, but I have no idea how a stadium is in the UK )
