Originally posted this on the "is Giffgaff any good?" thread but thought I might get some more help if this question has its own topic. I've asked on the Giffgaff forum, but all you get there are a bunch of copy and paste "ask an agent" answers from desperate kids, and I'm really after next steps if a mobile operator fails to give you a PAC.
I've been trying to get my number out of Giffgaff with a PAC for over a month now, and I can't get anywhere. My original request for a PAC made the "PAC code in progress" message appear on my account page on their website, and there it has stayed for about six weeks.
Every time I ask a customer service rep, I get sent the same copy-and-paste script with the same non-working link to request a code, which just leads me back to the same "in progress" message.
I did get one PAC out of them the other day, but it was sent to me on the 29th and expired on the 30th, so it was no use. Funny, I thought they were meant to expire after 30 days.
Since then, every support ticket I've sent to them has been marked 'solved' with no response, so I'm feeling a little ignored.
With no one to call at Giffgaff, I don't know where to go next. Should I go to Ofcom with a complaint, or is there any other procedure to basically kick a network up the bum and get them to sort it out?
