Can't get a PAC code from Giffgaff
Originally posted this on the "is Giffgaff any good?" thread but thought I might get some more help if this question has its own topic. I've asked on the Giffgaff forum, but all you get there are a bunch of copy and paste "ask an agent" answers from desperate kids, and I'm really after next steps if a mobile operator fails to give you a PAC.
I've been trying to get my number out of Giffgaff with a PAC for over a month now, and I can't get anywhere. My original request for a PAC made the "PAC code in progress" message appear on my account page on their website, and there it has stayed for about six weeks. Every time I ask a customer service rep, I get sent the same copy-and-paste script with the same non-working link to request a code, which just leads me back to the same "in progress" message. I did get one PAC out of them the other day, but it was sent to me on the 29th and expired on the 30th, so it was no use. Funny, I thought they were meant to expire after 30 days. Since then, every support ticket I've sent to them has been marked 'solved' with no response, so I'm feeling a little ignored. With no one to call at Giffgaff, I don't know where to go next. Should I go to Ofcom with a complaint, or is there any other procedure to basically kick a network up the bum and get them to sort it out? |

I got my Father in laws PAC code three hours after requesting it from GG and transferred it the next day.
When you say Customer service rep, do you mean an agent or just someone on the forum? If you PM one of the 'Educators' they will look into it for you and will chase up the Agents if necessary. That appears to be better than continually hitting the request PAC button. The PAC system is not ideal in the phone industry. My Wife had trouble squeezing a PAC Code out of 3. Seems there is always someone having a problem no matter what network you pick. |

If you call 43430 from the giffgaff handset and select option 2 there's a request PAC option there.
