'Which probs beats sony and dell'?
In other words your pulling stuff from your arse now. I think apple computers are rubbish, made by a low end, suicide rife company called foxconn. Clue is in the name. Its bargain basement stuff sold at a shockingly high price. Anyway, back on to the iphone. The very fact their stock has shot down $13 is testament to apples mistake today. Bring out a phone that's identical to the last with a few upgrades inside. Madness. Personally I don't know what the fuss is about. I've got an iPhone 4 and to be honest for me I dont see how it could be much better hardware wise. If you are a hardcore techy who likes messing around with things the. Apple phones are simply not the choice for you. In fact I don't see why Android users bash Apple so much. If the Android OS and phones are so much better, why be threatened by Apple with it's "rubbish" hardware? It's never made sense to me. I like Apple products for their ease of use I don't really think about Android or Blackberry etc, I'm really not at all bothered, I've used their phones, but I prefer mine. There is room in the Market for everyone. Really don't get the Apple hatred. Surely it's better to have all the competition? |

I think this is a trend which apple is making for creating more profits...
iphone 3g, 3gs, 4g, 4gs, 5g, 5gs, 6g, 6gs, etc, etc The "S" stands for "solved", as the iPhone 4 had problems...they have been fixed on solved in 4gS... it is a abit shitty to have a phone with problems and the manufacturer isn't going to do anything about it........no they will, they will release a new phone with the problems solved and you can buy the new one...why because your made of money... I have a iPhone 4 and I use it more to play games and calling less...touch screen is over hyped I can imagine iPhone 10 - with sliding keyboard...a Revolution.... Iain

Which is just my point.
It is much harder to get a virus on a Mac than on a Window's machine. Wouldn't that please you? I know people will throw in the argument, that you can protect yourself from getting a virus on a Window's machine by just being smart etc...but why should you have to go through all that. Mac's are much faster as well, and their general performance is better than the majority of window's machines. Whats hard about installing anti virus and setting it to 'auto update'? I've not had a virus in a what must be a decade. While I appreciate your world shattered tonight with the launch of apples new uber phone the 4S, think what you are saying. Now go and have a mug Horlicks and get off to bed and rest. |

This article is interesting. It seems a power shift has taken place from an Apple dominated market to a Google dominated one. The underwhelming launch of the iPhone 4S has left Apple looking vulnerable and unprepared, and it looks like Google will be taking no prisoners next week. |

How have Apple lost it?
Their computers/laptops are excellent. Also Windows 7 IMO is a better OS. |

All phones can develop faults, even the android phones. Apple have very good customer service and have fixed any issues I've had promptly. |

You can't compare a laptop to a PC anyway because a PC will always win in terms of specs. Even Windows laptops are limited. Might be cheaper but if we take your PC as an example it will always be more powerful than any laptop. Not everyone wants the latest and greatest hardware. They want something they can use. A lot of people aren't keen on windows, they like the simplicity of OSX. It's also good for the more advanced user due to the fact it evolved from unix. I don't understand why people have to have such go at anyone who owns a Mac computer anyway . I mean what business is it of yours anyway? It's got nothing to do with you what someone here chooses. It's called personal choice. i mean who cares really what some random internet persona thinks of what you're using ? |

With competition the user gets to vote so for Android a 4"+ screen is what everyone goes for.
Loyalty will make many stick with the smaller Apple size though some may just wait till the GS or 5 to come out. |

Yeah, right. It all comes down to name.
The iPhone 4S is to the iPhone 4 what the iPhone 3GS was to the iPhone 3G, but quite a bit more so in terms of its hardware upgrades. Does it matter if it is an iPhone 5 or a 4S? Personally I won't be getting either, but I don't get anyone dissing the 4S with iOS5 just because it wasn't the much awaited iPhone 5. Wasn't saying it was anything to do with the name. I expected a better phone. bigger screen, etc Not fussed about camera as used to get great shots on the 3GS. The iPhone 4 was never slow, so I'd gain nothing from moving to the 4S. Used iPhone since 2G days, only one I never got was the 3G, went straight to 3GS as the 2g was perfect for my needs. The 4 was nice, apart from the signal issue, but it does nothing better or worse than the phone I now have (HTC) |

Bottom line?
Apple share price will recover. iPhone 4S will sell by the truck-load. Apple will turn in yet another massive profit next year. iPhone 5 and iPad 3 will release at some point in the next 12 months and again sell by the shit-load. Loads of people will still label the products over-priced trendy tat. I think the fruity logo is going to be around for a while yet. |

At that time, iOS was still undesputedly the best operating system at least for usability.
Apple had an enormous head start but the others have really caught up both on spec and software, I'm afraid instead of leading the way Apple are now beginning to play catch-up against other phone manufacturers, |

I thought it was the DroidTard show these days?
If everyone has to have an android phone because they are the latest and greatest, then instead people will now be Google sheep instead of Apple sheep. ![]() ![]() When the ipad 2 came out I remember everyone bitching how it was crap. Not a good enough upgrade, I want my retina display wah wah wah. Apple are going down, it's the end for them. Strangely though I have yet to see this happen. It seems at every iphone/ipad event there are people predicting Apples demise. I think if Apple released the iphone 5 yesterday and it was perfect there would still be bitching. |

Apple couldn't offer an iPhone 5 with major hardware upgrade, LTE and the like in a sexy new package as the technology just isn't there in the size they need to squeeze it in a new case.
The functionality of iPhone is still better than all the Smartphones out there. Name me one phone that does ALL of this. AirPlay 8 megapixel BACKLIT sensor 2.4 aperture lens 1080 HD video Great battery time Dual Core 300+ ppi screen Manufacturer shops in most big cities around the world. iTunes remote, Keynote remote. FaceTime which is free to use. Non network branded over the air updates HSPA+ Plus more.. It doesn't matter if the case is 18 months old, for me It still the best solution for my situation. |

Windows is bloated and needs far higher a system spec to run Similar speeds In the real world.
OS/X is probably getting much bloat in order to catch up. On phones both IOS and Android are getting bloat in order to be competitive. |

Iain people who say that normally have never owned a mac, or perhaps have owned one briefly, and have had a tantrum because of OSX and are now militantly anti apple.
I have in fact owned 2 imacs, a macbook pro, 2 ipods an iphone 3gs and an iphone 4 and i still don't get what all the hype with them is. They are standard computers and phones sold at an expensive price. Quote:

Yes apple are good instore if i travel over 100 miles to get to the nearest one but their phone support was awful when i tried to get a ipod replaced. They wanted me to pay for a new one before they would ship it out then would refund me when i sent the old on back. Not good.
