Hi guys, i know most of the threads on here are about the uk charts and i am from the uk but i like a lot of american artists and i am a big fan of Nickelback and Daughtry and their albums both get released the same day, 21st November, the same day as Rihanna's new album, I know in the uk, Nickelback and Daughtry won't go close to Rihanna, but who do you think will be number 1 in the USA?

Daughtry: 2 number 1 albums, both sold over 1million copies
Nickelback: 21million albums sold altogether in the USA, 5 platinum selling albums, one 8x platinum
Rihanna: never had number 1 album in the USA, 4 platinum selling albums!

I think Rihanna could be a strong competitor this time, even though Daughtry are crazy big in the states, I'm gonna say they're gonna come in 3rd place. Rihanna and Nickelback going for Number 1.

Should be interesting.

Mary J Blidge or Michael Jackson.Rihanna may be out of the top 3 with all that competition

I agree with O.Michel. Mary J Blige's albums have went to either #1 or #2 since 1994. Her last album would have given her, her 4th number 1 album in a row if it hadn't have been for Susan Boyle. But Rihanna will be a tough competitor, although I think Rihanna is more of a single seller than album

Monica is also releasing on that date, but she not much competition.

I think Rihanna will miss out, She'll get either 2nd or 3rd, for some reason the USA cannot connect to her as much as the UK has, at least as a whole.

I shall remind you that she sold 180k with her last album and that one was released after a 3-year hiatus

Rihanna will not be #1 but it will be her highest first week sales I predict. I guess 230-250k opening.

It seems so low ever since BTW pulled 1.1M.

by selling it for 99cents

I think Rihanna may lose out Stateside...UK she has it covered But Stateside that is a popular line up!

I gues like Britney is ehre Rihanna is Stateside. Can have massive number 1 singles, and no matter how popular will never quite reach the stop spot on the albums side

Still i think in terms of quality Riri will have it covered

Still would of sold over 700k first week without the 99c sales

I think you'll find it was on target for 450k without the shameful discount

It'll be Mary J Blige, Daughtry then Rihanna IMO

Don't focus on 1st week, though BTW sold all of what it was meant to sell in the first week, so that was huge, but then she had the largest drop any 1+ million debut has ever had and she has sold no more than an additional amount of 650k copies since her first week with 2 singles and promo (no shade).A healthy chart run is much better than an impressive 1st week

Oh, btw, my prediction for Rihanna is 220k at No.4

"According to sources, "Born This Way," scanned 330,000 units at Amazon on Monday, even though the unprecedented traffic derailed the Amazon servers. While the Amazon experience left some consumers in a sour mood, the news on the technical glitch helped heighten awareness about the album (not that Interscope and Lady Gaga needed any help in that department).

As a make-good for customers who experienced difficulty in downloading "Born This Way" on Monday, May 23, the merchant priced the album again at 99 cents on Thursday (May 26). Industry sources told Billboard.biz that the second-day availability of 99-cent prices generated approximately 110,000 scans, nearly all of which were the 99-cent version."

The two days of the 99c sales are listed as selling 330,000 and 110,000 copies.

Seeing as she sold over 1.1M first week taking that away equates to around 700k first week non-Amazon sales
