Important question about iPhone 4S
can some one tell me urgently is there any difference to the casing or size or anything that some one would be able to tell you were holding the 4S not the old iPhone 4 ? Like the 3GS had a more shiny logo on the back so you could tell it wasn't a 3G hand set. Also will there be a shortage of stock do you think?

iPhone 4 casing dimensions: 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3mm
iPhone 4S casing dimensions: 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3mm And there you have it. There is no difference in materials or aesthetics either. Not even one slight change. |

Ok I get that but what about the apple logo will that be different like on 3G and 3GS was different?
there must be some way you can tell????The only difference in casing is in the antenna gaps, there is an extra gap on the left side just like the iPhone 4v, which I think means that the cases would have to be different for the 4S as the volume and lock buttons are slightly lower down. |

4S will talk back, 4 will ignore you
Yeah, there lies the problem, how can one show off their new phone if it looks just like the old one.

I for one will be keeping the iPhone 4 and waiting for the iPhone 5
8MP cam - My 5MP is good enough for what I want. 1080p HD - Admit it's nice but I don't record enough for it. A5 Chip - Possibly the thing I like the most but I still think the iPhone 4 is fast enough for what I want. Robot talking thing - NO, just NO. |

It'll be the same as the 4. So, you will have to get a big label to tell people you have been suckered in instead of trying to let them see something different....

Are you worried that people will laugh at you if they see that you don't have the new one?

My first iPhone was the 3GS. That to me was the first model that overcame basic useability issues like cut and paste, and - crucially - had a considerably faster processor. It's now the oldest model that is still upgradeable (and has been for a while) so I smugly think I made the right choice. I haven't decided yet on the 4S, but my general view is that often its incremental advances that are more important than the bigger headlines. What is was more important with the iPhone 4 - a different shape, or the fact that the new shape made reception worse? The things I was looking for in a new iPhone were better battery life, faster processor, more reliable reception, a better camera and more memory, so perhaps uniquely on these boards I'm happy with the spec offered (though I'm disappointed the camera still can't optically zoom). I bet the voice recognition won't work - they never do - but who cares? Just avoid the gimmicks and use it for what you need it for. All comes down to price with the carriers at this point. |
