Humax HDR Failed Recording

I have "Dragons' Den" on series record from BBC HD, all have recorded faultlessly before, however Monday's episode (last in series) produced a failed recording which you can only delete. Any idea what might have caused this?

If the failed recording is outside the series folder then it normally means that for some reason the eitpf flag to start accurate recording wasn't recieved. Why is a different question.

Has it been ITV1-HD it might have been the programme event id was changed by the broadcaster after you set the reservation. BBC though don't seem to do this.

I did not record this so you need someone that did to post really.

Thanks Graham, yes, the failed recording was outside the series folder. Other things were recorded the same day (from ITV1HD) which worked, but nothing else from BBC HD. Oh well, hello BBC i-Player...

I don't think it was on BBC HD on Monday as I recall watching it on BBC2.

It is shown in "Total TV Guide" mag as on both BBC2 & BBCHD at 9pm Monday, I see it was repeated Tuesday on BBC2, but didn't notice it had failed until too late for this!

Take a look here it says otherwise.

21:00–22:00 The Truth about Child Brides was being shown.

Dan, how interesting, thanks for that, that seems to be the problem then! It has been on both BBC2 & BBCHD every other week, so the series record was expecting it on BBCHD on Monday, but, for some reason, it was pulled at short notice from BBCHD so when the box saw the CRID was different it failed. How duff, well done BBC.

Just to follow up, I've just checked, the HDR schedule screen still shows Dragons' Den on BBCHD on 03/10 at 21:00~22:00, so it was down to the Beeb. I appreciate BBCHD just has content from other channels and isn't a simulcast, but if a series is being shown and linked, then to suddenly drop the last episode is really bad.

This is where BBC iPlayer is your friend.
