Will Windows phone now have the option to shine ?
With Apple having lost the plot and launched the the very lackluster IP4S (i know what the S should stand for
). Perhaps now is the time for Microsoft to try and push its Windows phones again. With the HTC TITAN and Radar just about to be launched. On the face of it the TItan beats the IP4s in every way.

Apple haven't lost the plot. I don't see why everyone is so hung up about the form factor.
Oh and no, the Titan doesn't beat the 4S in every way: Only a single core CPU on the Titan Lower spec GPU on the Titan Same system RAM No 1080p recording on the Titan No wireless screen mirroring on the Titan Significantly less apps available for the Titan Lower screen resolution on the Titan despite the screen being bigger, so much poorer image quality. No Bluetooth 4 support on the Titan Less battery life on the Titan Titan is bigger and heavier Maximum storage on the Titan is 16 GB I could go on and on... It seems the only areas the Titan does 'beat' the 4S is on screen size (but much poorer quality) and camera megapixels, but the new optics in the 4S could well produce better pictures. I wait with baited breath for some proper independent reviews of the 4S's camera. |

Any product will succeed or fail on it's own merits. Windows phones are no different. They've always had the 'option to shine'.

The thing is, Android got successful in a time where Apple was controlling over 70% of the market, but it only really did this with HUGE carrier and OEM support. Before that, like WP7, Android was failing. The G1 and Dream were not successful devices, just like the Mozart and Omnia 7 are not successful devices now...
Android got lucky with breakthrough devices like the Motorola Droid and the Samsung Galaxy S, and the only way WP7 is going to get anywhere is with devices like those...MS needs to get carrier support, just like Google went running to Verizon/Vodafone to back Android, MS needs to do the same. The problem now is, MS needs to act fast if they want to get in on the oligopoly, otherwise they might as well throw away WP7 in the same basket as the KIN. |

Firstly (mainly aimed at op) the 'fanboy' culture that has grown on here is incredibly tiresome. Real people will accept that there and positives and negative to each company/device/OS/design etc.... there is literally no need to act as if some sort of life changing war has been won or lost, then try and shove it down everyone's throats. It's just boring.
As an Android user and a former iPhone user, I would really love it if Microsoft came up with very slick, user friendly, functional, well supported OS. Would be nice to see Windows get ahead of the game again. Of course, it will also depend on the phones that it will come on, but if they work closely and pay plenty of attention to detail, there is real potential for both Nokia and Microsoft to come up with something special. |

Thank you, from all of us who have to put up with the immature 'mine is bigger than yours' idiots. You said it better than I could have done.

Well said, the better ALL the OS's out there the better it it for us users as the developers need to keep on there game to stay ahead. |

You say the titan is 'bigger' in your cons list, then you say screen size is where it beats the 4S. Are you really going to squabble about my recording is 1080 and yours is 720? And who is going to die without Bluetooth 4? ![]() It's just another phone, get over it. |

I wouldn't buy a Windows phone myself to be honest, from all the videos and pictures I've seen, I hate the look of the interface.
I don't like the tiles and the way some text "runs off the screen" either. The other thing I don't understand - back in the 90s we had computers with basic looking icons and interfaces because of hardware restrictions, then when hardware became more powerful, icons and interfaces became really high-res, now Microsoft have gone in a complete circle. The interface and icons on Windows Phone 7 look basic. Android and iOS always look really neat, tidy and high-res in comparison. |

Oh please stop.

Dont get me wrong. I have a IP4 myself. In its day it was top of the class. Things have moved on so fast since then. The latest update was very week and purely playing catch up to HTC and Samsung. In a months time there will be another all singing all dancing phone which will leave the IP4S even further behind. My point was not everyone wants to go to Android. For those who dont want the IP4S then the Titan was a more then capable rival. Given the price difference of say £50.00 pm for the Apple or £30.00 for the Titan . I would say the Titan is a better phone.

I can see Titan's ad slogan: Is that a Titan in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?
It's huge. I was able to use HD7 for a while, it has 4.3'' screen and it was just about the maximum size I thought was usable Well, I check it out in the shop when it is available.
