Have just added a second receiver for 19.2 to complement my Foxsat, in the main to view F1 next year.

Is it possible to connect the LNB out terminal on the Foxsat to a diseqc switch to use the feed to my second receiver to tune the the full spectrum of 28.2 channels as well as the 19.2 feed? Something tells me I can't

I realise that I wont be able to view some channels on 28.2 when the Foxsat is on/recording.

In theory, yes you could set this up so that your secondary receiver tells the diseqc switch to switch between the 19.2 feed and the 28.2 feed, with the 28.2 feed actually coming from the LNB out on the Foxsat. Will the Foxsat pass the signal from the disqec switch through to the LNB (obviously when the Foxsat is not using the LNB itsself) to get the LNB to change accordingly.

Good question, I might have a go at that myself and see if it works!

If the HDR is powered on then this will limit what comes out of the LNB out port.

I have a manual switch on the LNB2 input. This lets me connect the LNB to my computer's PCI card.

I tried it out without success though I was using different Freesat box to you. Before putting the switch in I found that my box allows the signal through to switch between H and V but not Low & High. I tried the switch anyway and it seemed to get ignored.

To be honest my setup is complicated now and it's not easy to do a proper test without ripping loads of stuff apart.

I think your only way of knowing is to try it yourself.

It would be far easier to run a 3rd feed from your 28.2e LNB to the diseqc switch ad then one from the19.2e LNB to the diseqc switch then feed the combined LNBs to the Freesat box from the outside instead of trying to use the LNB out to feed the diseqc switch for Freesat. That way you are getting the full 28.2e and 19.2e signals instead of a cut down set from 28.2e.

I would not recommend the Maplin switch as the Master satellite box always controls the dish and the Slave satellite box consequently is restricted to the group that the Master has selected. Far better is the Jaeger (or Digiality) Smart Priority Switch or Smart Priority Switch available from pulsat.com (no doubt amongst others) which allows the Slave to take control of the dish when the master is off.

The switch allows you to chose which of two receivers an LNB is connected to. Neither receiver is a Master or Slave.

It works regardless of whether or not the receivers are supplying power. Can be bought from Satcure quite cheaply.
