Any decade is better than this.

The only reason it got to the top is because it has a swear word in its chorus and the kids therefroe think its cool. What happened to a variety of No.1s and there actually being GOOD songs at the top?

UK music scene is at its worst. 2011 = worst year ever for music (barring Adele).

PLEASE, no more cr#p!!!!

Rant over ”

There is alot of crap this year and Adele is included in that list.

[quote=vampirek;53339735]If MLJ gets to number one, then the phrase ;UK Number 1's are still awful' can apply. Terrible repetitive song aimed at people who can only intake two beats at a time.

Please give me a breakdown of 2 beats at a time

Definitely!

It's annoying people saying musics dead, it really isn't. Good music is there you just have to make the effort to find it. Stop paying attention to the top 40 and dig deeper. Doesn't exactly make sense to judge an entire age of music based solely on the number ones.

Number ones have always been love them or hate them.

I actually feel lucky to be around in this age because not only are there countless of genres to explore but there are decades of older music to discover as well. And it's never been easier to find thanks to the internet!

I don't remember many of the no 1s I haven't liked much. Current indications are that, for the first time since 2000, my fave song of the year could be a no 1 from earlier in the year. Thanks to Nicole for this!
