Ee 17/09/04
I'm still in doubt about tonights ep - it had so much potential but I feel it didn't live up to it.
On the whole the episode has been one of the best over the past few months, however I did not feel that Peggy's reaction was feasable (I mean why would you believe a man you just met over family and a long time friend) - surely common sense would step in! She should have let Sam keep "control" of the business but "officially" transfer it all in her name, that way if Andy is dodgy (as we know he is) he can't get anything. Why oh why am I still bothered by these things!!!! |

I think it was OK we will proberly not see the real affect of this until Peggy is back after he has the money I mean lets not forget the same thing happened to her with Frank so it will be good to see how she deals with it happening again.
on the whole a good ep but to much crap andy and minty i hope these two get blown up in the bomb. |

I enjoyed Enders tonight.
I also am warming to the millers more and more and Rosie does seem like a great character to me. |

I thought Peggy was a bit cheesy to be honest, "When I'm back, when Phil's Back, when Grant's back, when we're all back! we're gonna rub your nose in it!" Like? uhmm what? I'm sure Grant is really bothered by some Geordie bitch he's never clapped eyes on lol I did like that line though, a subtle hint from the Producers, that Grant is indeed coming back to Walford?
Overall, a good episode and I'm looking forward to Peggy's return in the New Year. Would love to her back for EastEnders 20th. |

Has it occured to anyone that Peggy knows EXACTLY what she's doing?!!
She's not dumb and it just seems that she made a bit too much of a point of exposing Minty's feelings about Sam, and the fact that the power of attorney can be transferred over to then just ignore it. She'll sort 'im aaaaaaaaaaaat, mark my words!! |

Can someone remind me how Phil can come back? Have I missed something - surely he is on the run from the police, after escaping on remand for armed robbery - so unless he is coming back in disguise I fail to see how he can come back. Perhaps someone can enlighten me ?
o/t I thought tonight's episode was a bit far fetched. I agree with the first poster here, why believe Andy over a Mitchell and a loyal and trusted friend? |

As Peggy left Sam in control of everything and didn't contact Phil, she should have atleast warned Sam to actually read and check everything before she signs anything!!!
I mean Andy is planning to get her to sign over her property without her noticing. But doesn't this remind you of something? When Ian tricked Laura into signing over money/the business to pauline! |

I enjoyed todays episode, although I'd have enjoyed some more from the entirely not-used Aunt Sal, if only for embarassing relation comments (her "...that doughnut Ricky..." line from yesterday is still making me chuckle, though i'm not too sure why). Barbara Windsor was, well, not great, though whenever a character is atrificially injected into proceedings they never really work well structurally, and when a character is so heralded, people are always quick to jump to say they were a let-down [*cough*Den*cough*]. When she was full time, and when she's full time again, i'm sure she'll work well, but when you're there for a headline, it's obviously that there'd be too much "Showbiz Barbara" and not enough "EastEnd Peggy" (incidentally, a character who disappeared in around 1995). I fully expected he return to be flash, flush and a little stilted, and although it had flaws, I enjoyed it. |

I thought it varied wildly during the episode. Some nice lines, the Ricky donught one made me laugh to, but some really awful ones as well - '' he's a wrong 'un Peggy' - who in London actually talks like that? And sorry, but I find Kim Metcalf increadibly poor, not up to the job at all, during her crying scene she looked like a sulky 5 year old who'd had her Barbie confiscated.

EE actually being logical? I don't think Peggy was doing a double bluff (why would she bother, when she had the opportunity to expose him to Sam then and there if she thought he was dodgy?) and I agree it was far fetched that she believed Andy, who she has never met before. It was overall a really irritating episode, with convoluted plot wheels churning away just to serve us up another unbelievable series of events in the future (be a bit dull if Andy was discovered so soon - well, not to me, because the less I see of him the better and any plot he's involved in always seem to be ridiculous - but obviously the scriptwriters have to fill screentime somehow ).
