Eastenders could do with a really good psycho now. I'm thinking worse than Joe Wicks, in fact even worse than Hollyoaks' Rob Hawthorne and that is the most insane soap has got. Someone who arrives with good intent befriends a few people and gets their trust but behind closed doors has a world of insanity behind them and slowly whirlwinds other people into a spiral of depression and anger. Here's an example. Let's say his name is Oscar.
Oscar arrives in the square and saves Pauline from a mugger. Martin and Sonia are full of thanks and he becomes a local hero. He becomes friends with the rest of the brat pack and gets a crush on Zoe.
When he meets Zoe's new boyfriend he tells him that she is a bit of a slapper and that he saw her snogging Spencer at a party. The boyfriend believes it and leaves Zoe which gives Oscar the chance to jump in and comfort her.
Oscar gets taunted by Darren Miller and his friends and they slash his tyres so Oscar finds Darren and punches him. He threatens Darren and tells him that if he tells anyone, he'll kill him and the rest of his family. Darren fears that Mickey is going to get hurt by Oscar's sanity but doesn't say anything in case Oscar finds out. He continues to torment Darren and poisons Genghis. Genghis survives but Darren is more scared than ever.
Zoe wants to take their relationship to the next level but Oscar doesn't invite Zoe back to his house. Gus sees Oscar threaten Darren and asks Darren what's going on but he remains schtum and says that they were having a laugh. Gus tells Mickey what he saw and he speaks to Darren about it and he tells everything. Darren says that whatever Mickey does, He cannot tell Zoe what's been going on or he'll kill the Millers...and Gus.
A girl is raped at the toilets near the tube station and Gus believes that Oscar is the culprit when he appears on edge about what's been going on. Gus asks a police officer on the scene about a description and says that the girl was robed of a mobile and a Gold and Emerald ring. Gus can only suspect it's him but a surprise witness comes forward in the form of Spencer Moon who says he knew about Oscar’s reign of Terror from the start after having a discussion with a punter who recognised Oscar after he attacked he friend.
Spencer followed the punter but she was jumped on by Oscar and dragged into the toilets. Spencer thinks that Oscar knows that it was him but Oscar keeps his distance.
Zoe overhears Gus talking about the description of the objects stolen.
Spencer, Gus and Mickey meet in The Vic while Zoe goes round to Oscar's house uninvited and there she finds a stash of mobile phones and credit cards all in womens' names. She asks about the nature of them and he breaks down and says that he uses them to fund his Cannabis habit. Zoe says there are people to help him and they'll go together. Oscar gets out a ring box and goes down on one knee. Before he opens the box Zoe says that he's being hasty but he then opens the box and inside is a Gold and Emerald ring. Zoe is freaked out and tries to calmly leave but he tells her she can't leave without answering. She then tries to run out in a panic but he slams the door shut and locks it.
She asks for the truth and he admits that he raped the girl and that he stole the ring and that he actually uses the money to fund his Heroin addiction. Zoe asks for a drink and she dials The Vic and tells Spencer she's in danger. While doing so Oscar crushes some pills into her drink. Oscar brings her the drink and she drinks it without thinking. Mickey and Gus drive in a hurry to Oscars flat. When they arrive they try to get in through the door but Oscar doesn't answer so Mickey smashes the window and they jump in. They find Oscar petting Zoe's hair as she lies there unconscious. Gus punches Oscar and a brawl ensues. Oscar locks all three of them in the bedroom and questions them. Mickey let's slip that Darren and Spencer know.
Oscar locks them in the flat and goes off towards The Square. He sneaks into the back of the Vic and Spencer spots him. He asks what's going on but Oscar just covers his mouth and drags him into the back. Spencer threatens to call the police but Oscar bludgeons him in the head and knocks him unconscious.
Mickey tells Gus to wait for the ambulance with Zoe as he drives off to get back to his house before Oscar. Oscar and Mickey are both going towards the Millers house and Oscar breaks in. He sneaks upstairs and tries to find Darren's bedroom. He opens the door and sees Darren sleeping, then he sees Mickey waiting and then he sees a police officer.
Oscar tries to flea but there are police cars outside the house. Oscar breaks down completely and starts yelling when DI Marsden comes out and declares to the dismayed crowds watching that Oscar is being sectioned under the Mental Health Act and he is carted away for good.
Phew! It's nice to get some of those things off your chest.
