Val's son (Paul?) turns out to be Rodney's son. AFAIK Val had an affair with Rodney while he was married to Diane. So Val must have had Paul more or less around the time Diane had Bernice. Rodney and Diane then divorce (and at some point before then Val and Roney's affair ends). The, Rodney finds a new woman, marries her (I think), and has a daughter, Nicola, though that also ends in divorce. So, that would make Paul quite a few years older than Nicola, but he so obviously isn't. What's that all about? Or have I got all the info wrong?

i think Bernice was a little child when Rodney was sleeping around with Val.
Val got pregnant with Paul - but was also seeing another man (who i think became her husband and is the father of her daughter). I think her and Rodney got found out by Diane and then Val told her other bloke she was pregnant with his child and they left Newcastle (or what ever part of the country they are susposed to be from). Diane mean while left Rodney and moved to (london) ???
or Rodney left Diane and Bernice ????

- its not very clear really but i think Paul's younger than Bernice, but older than Nicola.
