Exactly what I though. My skin colour changes in Summer and Winter, but not as drastically as hers. She is proper dark skinned in one video and in the next one, she isn't. Fair play to whoever said she used to live in Texas then and New York now, but I doubt she goes for a monthly vacation to Texas in between music videos.

If both her parents are African/Carribbean/Jamaican/Crayolan or whatever, does that mean she is mixed race? Confused.

Anyway, she should be happy with her skin colour, there is nothing wrong with being dark!

Thanks for all the posts peeps x x

Everybody's skin changes with the sun, season and then also under makeup and lighting. I don't see why anybody could think any different.

But I'd just like to ask this really, if a black woman was whitening her skin for videos or magazines... how is that any different to white women using/abusing sunbeds? It both involves changing their skin for vanity reasons. It's a genuine question, if I appear ignorant or something I really apologise, I'm not on a wind up

I definately don't think she bleaches. My skin colour is kind've light, a bit lighter than Beyonce I would say but If i'm out in the sun/sunbathing it can makea huge difference even if it's just for a few hours. When I spent weeks in a hot country my skin was definately a lot darker but after coming back to England it gets lighter again after a while. Also bright lighting/natural light can make my skin look really white there can be a big difference in photos. I think this is the case with Rihanna also as she was much darker when her career started. There are some people like Lil Kim who I think have bleached their skin but I don't think Beyonce was very dark to begin with.

and who said she isn't happy?
People just sent you interviews and pics of recent events where she is darker but you chose to ignore it.

It could be environmental or maybe she does use creams or other cosmetic procedures to get lighter, it's not unheard of in the states and she could have felt pressure to appeal to a certain audience.

She doesn't use anything to make her skin lighter, it's been proved by the pictures in this thread.

Whether she feels comfortable in her own skin or not is her own business and assumptions about it can get quite uncomfortable. She was paying homage to Audrey Hepburn so maybe they overdid with the make-up to make her look white, but I still think she looks like a normal light skinned black girl (especially when she's wearing a pink shirt and no pants -was the shirt pink or do I remember incorrectly?).Anyway...

It's all about the lighting. There is plenty of pictures of her dark now and light pictures of her with DC.

She's just light-skinned, and she also uses bronzer from time to time. I think it's an image thing. This kind of conversation gets on my nerves anyway, because white women have been allowed to tan and use fake tan or whatever for years, but the minute a black woman in the public eye does anything to do with altering her skin tone, she's suddenly innately racist and hates herself and her people. People just say this about Beyonce because they have nothing else to drag her on. She's a proud black woman. End of.
