Since I bought a new Samsung DVD Player I can't play the DVDs sent from lovefilm rental service. All other DVDs play fine but when I put in lovefilm DVDs the player says 'no disc'.

Any ideas?

Silly but obvious first questions that need to be asked, Have you been ordering DVDs from LoveFilm and not the Bluray version of the film? Have LoveFilm inadvertently sent you a bluray rather than DVD?

I dont think so, it doesnt say Blueray on the DVD, will it be clear on the disk whether its Blueray or not

Also check your LoveFilm.com rental list just to make sure that you have not selected Blu Ray disc by mistake.

Look for a logo like this

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...u-ray_Disc.svg

on the disk. If there is one then it is Blu Ray and not DVD.

Rental discs get dirty and covered in fingerprints.
Give any discs that won't play a quick wipe with a clean cloth to get any marks off.

Try the discs in your PC

The funny thing for me is now my rental list is almost entirely Blu Ray discs fingerprints/scratches almost seems a thing of the past, odd!

Nonsense.

The Blurays I rent frequently have marks on them and I always give them a clean before they even go in the player.

Blu-rays do not get scratched as easily as DVDs do.
