Don't be a drag, be a poster who has something constructive to say.

Agreed! We don't need to talk about Madonna on here, yes she also has her records but this is marking Gaga's achievements

Please, she leaves Madonna in her wake, both in terms of talent and having something to say.

Ah, but what has Gaga said that hasn't been said by Madonna? When Madonna's friends were dying because of AIDs, she sang about. When she fought with her husband, she sang about it. When she experienced a massive spiritual change in her life, she sang about it.

Gaga has a great message and I think she's absolutely great, but Madonna has said and will most likely continue singing about topics Gaga can't/won't. The basic "love yourself" message was done by other artists (such as Madonna) when it was a lot less popular than it is now.

Yet she copies Madonna.

Do you 'monsters' even know what Madonna has done for music?

More than Stef!

And who ever said that Gaga is more important for music than Madonna?

I think that Gaga is more talented than Madonna, but in terms of cultural impact and importance for the music industry over the years Madonna has (and will still have for a long time imo) the edge not only over Gaga but over absolutely every other female popstar. Come on, I'm a Little Monster, which is not the same as delusional.

She's talented yes. But in terms of having something to say, she just regurgitates what many have said before her and tries to make the message her own. Her heart is in the right place but I find her 'preaching' rather pompous and superficial at times.

Gaga will burn out quicker than Britney did, come ten years Lady Gaga will find it hard to reach the top 10. imo.

She put all her eggs into one basket and wore herself out too quickly. She will really struggle once the next album hits.

There is only so much copying of Madonna, Gaga can do. Plus there are rumours, from Laurieann Gibson's Twitter, that Gaga's label are taking back control from her for the next album. That's a bad sign as it proves they have no faith in her own ideas. It also shows just how controlled she has been and that despite the sales they feel she underperformed this era.

Usual disclaimers apply.

If I was Gaga I would be insulted.

But then I've never forgot Akon claiming he along with two record execs created her whole image in 30 minutes after telling her that she needed to change her name to be a success.

Well, she used to be a plain-dressed piano basher and then she got signed and guess what!! She started dressing all crazy! Born that way she certainly was not.

The label wanting to take back control from her shows how controlled she has been?

Lady Gaga established that name and image long before she met Akon, when she was a small-time performance artist collaborating with Lady Starlight and writing songs for Britney Spears on a label that eventually dropped her.

It seems some people like to forget there was quite a big gap between Stefani the jazz artist and Gaga the popstar.

Exactly!

There was a period nevertheless where she turned into 'Gaga' but because it was probably her least publicly known moment (because the press don't care about how it came to be, more about the 'shocking lies' she is living) people assume she just changed when she gave up jazz.

All journalists want from that era of her career is the details on drug abuse and writing songs for Britney. I'd love to know about her performances, how she met Starlight, what she really thought of playing small pubs all the time, how she formed The Haus, etc.

Journalists are so stupid. Wasted opportunities.

That's an amazing achievement. I personally don't think her songs are *that* spectacular but that's just my opinion Well done to her.
