my uncles tv has gone on the blink. when watching any channel, the tv blinks, i.e. when you change channel and for a brief second the screen turns black. thats what happens, e.g. its like pressing channel 4 on the remote every second.

anybody got any idea's?

Possibly a button jamming on the remote control?

Try setting it to a channel and taking the batteries out of the remote if the problem stops then its just a stuck button on the remote if it perists then it looks like there might be something wrong with the actual set

the thing is that my uncle lost the remote a fair few months ago.
he was on about some wires below which could be interfering with the tv. but i dont know if thats the case

Many TV's (sony's especially) will blink the red light several times to indicate a fault (13 blinks means a lineoutput fault I believe) - so if it blinks, count how many... if it always blinks the same amout then it's indicating a fault.

You could just press all the buttons on the front panel to make sure none are stuck .... but I suspect it's a fault.

My old Sony would randomly blink..... sometimes when I turned it on.. sometimes after it had been on a while... it was faulty, although still worked most of the time.

Being a lazy TV repair man, I put up with the fault and then got a nice new TV!
