How much longer is it going to last ? the guy was sacked ages ago, we still don't know why and probably never will.
So Joe's been away for months now, Lyn doesn't seem to bothered at all,we never have any news on what he's up to (probably because it's safer this way for the writers).
Not only is this totally unbelievable but more importantly it is very annoying and what's even worse is that I've got the feeling no much will have changed in 6 months' time.

It is getting beyond a joke now. They should just call a halt to it by either killing Joe off or he decides to stay in where ever it is he's gone and having Lyn follow him there.

Problem is, they can't do anything until the outcome of Shane Connor's lawsuit.

I actually think the show has done a fantastic job of making Joe's absense seem less obvious as time goes on. Stories have been great over the last couple of months and despite some characters being obviously stuck with his scene's for a while, the show hasn't suffered. As much as I loved Joe I really don't mind what happens now once things keep going the way they are.

I was in Melbourne earlier this year, and went on the Neighbours tour (sad I know, but it was fun!). Anyway the tour guide told us that the general consensus was that Joe had been sacked as he was a bit of an embarrassment. Every week in Melbourne (and twice a month in Sydney) they hold 'Neighbours Night', a pub quiz meets Neighbours extravagana, very popular with backpackers and students. Every week 3 of the cast turn up to meet their fans, sign autographs, get pictures taken etc etc. According to our tour guide Joe enjoyed these a little too much, taking advantage of the free alcohol and large supply of young girls! He was also very unreliable apparently, often turning up late or drunk on the set.

At this time it seemed the producers weren't sure whether to write out the character or bring in another actor to replace him. I can't believe how long it's taken them to sort it out though! Possibly they're keeping this character going until his brother settles in and becomes some kind of replacement.

they are creating a diversion for us with his brother, they have put lynne in this storyline with his brother so he acts as some kind of replacement for him until the situation is resolved.

why has the truth not been revealed over his sacking?

if it weren't for Liljana's yummy cleavage I don't think I'd be watching anymore, Lyn and Izzy are really getting on my nerves
I've already stopped watching Emmerdale because of Pearl and Val (and Jarvis).
And now with the half hour break between Hollyoaks and Corrie, it won't be long before I give up tuning in to the latter as well.
Overly annoying characters can really harm a show, I'm surprised at the producers for making such obvious mistakes.

I think they should replace joe with another actor.....

How about Mark Little!!

After all he was a "joe" in neighbours before so it kind of fits. I always thought Joe Scully was Joe Mangel reincarnated.

Couldn't agree more. Mark Little and Shane Conor do look alarmingly similar!

I had no idea he had been sacked. It's a shame because I thought he was a great character. But if that is the case then they should deal with the character and not leave him in limbo.

They could replace the actor as some have mentioned and it may work, but it always takes a while for the viewer to adjust.I am not a big fan of that process myself. It works okay with kids and young teens because they change so much anyway but adults take more convincing.

Somehow I can't see the writers getting around the situation with any credibility but what the hell,it's a soap, not Shakespeare.

Joe's whereabouts was actually mentioned not long ago. Father Tom went up to the farm recently after Joe had called him to say their Dad had taken a turn for the worse.

I don't know if she's meant to be from Liverpool, I think I heard Birmingham mentioned in the show, at any rate the actress Joan Sydney was born in London, not sure when she emigrated
