Len has fallen to the execs agenda and unable to think for himself.

Actually, Matt did well DESPITE of her, not because of her. The only routine I liked of Matt last year was the Charleston. The Samba was good but the back-flip was so unnecessary and he already did that in his cha-cha...
See above. No pros were singled out like this but Aliona has herself to blame for being to esoteric in her choreography. Though I have to say her cha-cha last week was pure cha-cha. Very good. This week, she didn't do very well with the foxtrot, because once again she was doing all the dancing and Harry was just positioning her and presenting her. I think she forgot that Harry was not a pro but the celeb that needed to be showcased. |

I get tired of all the choreography arguments. Yes, some people like her choreography, some don't.
But I am tired of hearing "Matt did well DESPITE her" from people who don't like it, or "Matt did well BECAUSE of her" from fans. People don't vote based on choreography or dance partners. Look at some of the rubbish dancers who have got far. If people are gonna vote for someone, they will vote for them regardless. |

This is all a load of baseless conjecture. With plainer choreography and fewer backflips Matt could have completely flown under the radar and failed to charm most of the people who voted for him.

This is just how I percieved it, but after Len's criticism of Aliona for not giving Rav more to do, the impression I got was that Rav and Aliona didn't get on so well from then on. The Quickstep was not good.
My suspicion is that Rav believed Len and lost trust in Aliona. |

Len seems to think Aliona has disrespected him.

I dont think Len hates her, more isnt keen on her. I think her choreo is more suited to DWTS than Strictly to be honest.
I agree. I also think she does a great disservice to her celeb partner by not taking on board (disregarding) the judges' often constructive critism. Her choreo does seem more suited to DWTS which has a more contemporary style & most of the routines appear to be a hybrid of American Smooth & Showdance with very little traditional style or content. Having said that, this is Aliona's 3rd year on SCD & she should know how to play the game by now. I noticed on ITT Harry tried to temper her comment immediately by saying he does listen to the judges' critcisms. Aliona has only herself to blame. |

Not quite true, I am afraid. If that was the case, then Aliona should just let Matt stand there and smile for 90 seconds every week in different costumes and maybe people will still vote him every week till the finals? Do you see how ludicrous your reasoning is?
What I am trying to say is that people voted for matt because they thought he was a great dancers. Other people are voted for because of different reasons. But I rarely think choreography or pros come into it. |

Rubbish. Like the other poster who argued that people will vote for the celebs REGARDLESS of the pros's choreography (which I disagree 100%), if people got SICK of seeing the same trick over and over again, they switched off. Simple.

I don't think he hates her, I just think he can be really bitchy sometimes. Plus I don't think he's enamored with her choreography choices from the past. Now again this year she has a partner that could possibly be a really nice dancer and I'm guessing he was hoping she'd listen to his opinion when it comes to choreography. Hearing on ITT that she doesn't give a **** what he says probably reaaaallllly peed him off, hence the vent (which he should have just kept to himself if you ask me - and I ain't an Aliona fan, believe me).

How can you explain terrible people like Gavin getting far? Certainly wasn't dancing.

But I completely went off him in the final and voted for Kara. |

Hello- newbie here *waves*
I really must side with Len on this one. If you're a professional dancer- you have to listen to any sort of critique to help guide your partner through to the finals- especially ones as talented as Matt and Harry! Shunning their advice on ITT, basically sticking two fingers up and saying "I know better than you" Is nothing short of disrespectful and rude- no matter how many pre conditions she puts on it. Aliona is modern and may clash with Len's criticisms, but that doesn't mean it's outdated advice he gives- it's ways for her professional to develop, which is the ethos of the show- not to try further her own personal endeavours; which, to me, comes across as a tad selfish... Nice to see her put in her place- maybe an apology this week, and a bit more respect in the future to the advantage of Harry- who really could (and should) make it to at least the semi's if she taps into even part of his potential Rant over

Bearing in mind what I have just said about thinking so far that Aliona's choreography has been good, I'll tell you what I really think.
Despite what Aliona said about not listening to the judges, I think Aliona wants that glitterball this year and knows she has another great chance with Harry. She also knows that some of the audience do listen to the judges and won't have been happy with some of he choreography for Matt last year and realises that it may have cost her the trophy. So I think this year she will produce great choreography that will please both the judges and the voting public - and give winning the glitterball her best shot. Look at all the props that have been used so far and it's on week 2. Has Aliona used any yet?

What are you saying? People got so "SICK" of Matt's repeated tricks that... he finished second overall in the competition to an incredibly strong couple and a more talented non-professional?

Gavin got far PRECISELY because Katya was EXCELLENT in her choreography and hid Gavin's sins and showcased his best, how ever little his best might be.

For someone who hadn't danced before, I thought Rav was doing well up to that point. Cant blame him for believing Len, as Rav wouldn't know who was right, but judges criticism of a professional can damage theprofessionals relationship with the celeb.

Len thought Aliona wasn't showing enough respect for him and the other judges.
He should look at the VT and see what a prat he makes of himself each week and he'd then understand. |

I think she said on It Takes Too she does not care what the judges tell her, and I dont blame her, they are all over the place, seriously over marking, under marking, giving a 9 in week 1?
Seriously in the good all days they had to bloody be great to get a 9, and usually didn't see the 9's until at least week 5/6 |
