Its nice to see that the Samsung Galaxy S2 is now the worlds best phone and finaly the Iphone has been knocked off the top slot after all these years. This phone has more power and better all around. "Well done Samsung"

I don’t exactly see the joke artnada? If it was intended to be one?

“The Iphone (even the new one) is old hat in spec and design.” The Samsung Galaxy S2 being Android has considerably more apps. And un-like the Iphone you can stick more memory in it. Powered by a 1.2 gig duel core processor. See the reviews on both phones. (And yes I have had both. I ditched the iphone 4 for the Samsung Galaxy S2 and never looked back. “Simples”

No turbo, but we all know exactly how this thread inevitably will turn out. The usual childish iPhone vs every other phone argument.

iPhone 4 is good. Very good, (I own one), but others will inevitably overtake it as "the best current" smartphone out there. And by the looks of it, Samsung are now doing the job. And fair play to them.

So, I'll just sit with amusement eating my popcorn while this thread unfolds

It looks like a nice phone. If they put WP7 I'd buy it myself. I am really not fond of Android.

Do you have any source to back this up? I'm not saying it isn't true, but I haven't been able to find any Q3 figures. Samsung themselves say they sold 10 million Galaxy S2s between April and August 2010. Apple sold more than 20 million iPhones in Q2 alone. But, now that the Galaxy S2 is available in America, you might be right.

I'm also not sure your point about apps is correct.

The nearest WP7 equivalent will be the new Samsung Focus S. It will feature the same screen, virtually the same dimensions and weight but obviously there will be a difference in the processor. It will definitely be one of the best phones out there, but it's not yet clear if it will be available in the UK.

turbo10 - question if I may (and to other SGS2 owners).

As I count down the months until I can get the phone, can you just give me your views on the music audio output.

The phone will be my primary music player and I read the other day that some are disappointed about how low the volume is. I travel to work on the London Underground and while I don't necessarily want my eardrums blown out, is the volume level enough to generally drown out other ambient noise - in comjunction with isolating headphones?

I have a Samsung Wave currently, which has sufficient volume levels so hoping it will be as good as that. Thanks.

It sounds great along with PowerAmp music player and my Pioneer headphones. Cant fault it whatsoever. Volume levels are fine for me.

Any link to back up what you say?

I can't find anything saying the S2 has outsold the iPhone 4...

My contract is up soon and I don't especially want the walled garden Iphone thing, but the only thing that puts me off the S2 is that visually it isn't up to much. If the leaked Nexus Prime shots are accurate then that looks like the one I'll be going for.

I use Klipsch S4 in-ear phones, on the 0-15 scale I do not go below ten. Fifteen is nowhere near unbearable. I could imagine there would be an issue with high ambient noise, a youthful preference for higher volume, or 'phones that need more power to drive them.

I was going to point you to the opening post, then I re-read it and realised I'd misread it earlier.

Seems an even more pointless thread now, really.

Indeed so in the ops opinion it's the best phone... Good for him... I would rather poke my eyes out with a spoon than use touch wiz again.

I don't use it on my S2 as i use another launcher, but i cant see anything wrong with it. Its fast, slick, looks good and works perfectly. So whats wrong with it?

Not from Cupertino

Seriously though, TW is just one of many launchers a user could install. The Cyanogen 7 mod for instance uses ADWlauncher and it is slick as they come.

I'm sure Heinz sell more baked beans that Cross and Blackwell. Its just that Heinz still has a captive audience for its watery recipe.

I'm guessing the OP was referring to this:
http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/News/12...ct_Awards.aspx
where the Galaxy II scooped the awards for Phone of the Year, best camera phone, best video phone, best android phone and best media phone.

don't use it much for music to be honest, certainly not with decent headphones. Not noticed it to be especially loud or quiet compared to other phones.

but the only thing that puts me off the S2 is that visually it isn't up to much
personal preference I guess. Other than the odd review complaining it feels 'plasticky' I don't really know what the problem is with it; even Apple complain it looks too much like their phone (except lighter and thinner ) so I have no complaints on its look or feel.

In fact it's the best phone I've ever had, and wouldn't swap it with any phone currently available (or available on pre-order )

Is there really an argument to be had here the specs of the SG2 are far better than the 4s in relation to screen, speed, camera performance.

It will only come down to iphone users looking for reasons to say the iphone is better such as software or it having an apple logo on the back. these are all things that can't be proven either way.

When it comes to actual spec the SG2 is better simple.

Another tedious 'my phones better than yours' thread. Why do people who buy any gadget, have to justify their decision to everyone else. who cares if on paper it's better than an iPhone or any other phone. It's always about individual users and what they need it for. I hate all this "my cocks bigger than yours" and include android, IOS and windows users in this. Just enjoy your purchase!
