Some faffing is okay. I'm just remembering Pamela Stephenson and James Jordan doing the
Charleston last year - I smiled so much at that. In fact, I've even watched it again several times on youtube!

I was worried when I saw the brolly this week but I actually thought Robbie and OIa did a fab job with it, they made it fit into the routine really well.

It all boils down to the over-use of props, get rid of the props and you get rid of a lot the faffing.

Now the've introduce lifts in the Salsa too, Why ?

Keep the lifts for the Americam smooth and the faffing for the Charleston.

They've decided that the no lifts rule should only apply to the 10 traditional ballroom/latin competition dances, which is apparently the case in proper competitions.

Its incredibly irritating and looks tacky.”

You forgot the Blessed Boa and its unexpected starring role.
And Giant Pink Fan. (Which looked at its best when those sweet little chaps from McFly were peeking out from under it.)
And Russell's Giant Clam.......

the list is endless and it's only week 2.

Is there a difference?

Well, one is firm, strong and solid, exuding an air of extravagant authority.

The other, I assume, not.

One's certainly got more structural and moral integrity than the other

The American Smooth was originally introduced to allow an opportunity for dancing out of hold, and lifts, but now that anything goes in any old dance, the AS seems to be superfluous, and we don't really need it any more, because it can't be distinguished from all the other ballroom dances.

There's going to a great dollop of faff in "Broadway Week" as the poor things attempt to tell a story. Yawn.

I hate the faffing too. It is mostly just time wasting.

They used to be able to manage without it. Is it the lack of decent contestants that they need to make use of it now so often.
