We didn't gloat either when they did so well!! Most of the ESC lot thought they'd be car crash tv, they didn't have a hope of getting through eurosong, they certainly weren't going to get through the semis without UK votes, they were never going to do well in the final especially singing relatively early, the juries will NEVER vote for them in any case...they can't sing anyway, it was the backing singers doing all the singing...blah.....and so on...ad nauseam....

Of course when it turned out that some juries DID rate them highly it was all "what idiots sit on the juries these days?" conveniently forgetting they'd said earlier that only 10 years old vote for Jedward anyway!

Oh and they don't like Lordi either. It's not a "proper" eurovision song. Bad form don't you know entering a song like that.

That was nice. I know what's coming though. I went on the Eurovision thread and I haven't seen any serious discussuion about 2012 (not looking hard enough) and have gleaned they're more interested in their fantasy Eurovison games right now, rather than the real thing.

One of my best friends posted some really mean FB statuses about the twins when they were picked to represent Ireland and were in the semi-finals. Of course I defended them!!
But strangely when they performed at the final she said they were "quite good" - dunno whether that was to please me or she actually warmed to them - I hope it was the latter and that it happened to a lot of people.
It makes me so sad when so many people hate on them

Good reactions are more positive. I'm not going to argue with anyone who despises them. Can't be bothered. Wouldn't change an irrational person's opinion anyway. I resolve to be like the twins: water off a duck's back.

ALL that, Marc — oh how my nails were bitten down during the Semis. For some reason I never had any worry about them winning Ireland's representation. I was thrilled to be able to throw some votes their way from Germany during the Semis and the big one.

I'm sceptical about there being no Eurosong. The Irish Star was the first paper to report the Jedward for Eurovision 2012 story last week and they said there would be a Eurosong final. It's very possible the Irish Daily Mail simply got their facts a bit jumbled up....I think RTE would be quite keen on a high profile Jedward only Eurosong contest myself.

Reading tweets of some of the people who were yesterday at Poptober seems they said something like "If we're on Eurosong in February you have to vote for us, ok guys?". So you're probably right

Hmm, I'm sure I've heard that one before. I HAVE seen them nick one or two tweets from others.

But NOT much tweets. Just the odd one here and there. This was all to do with the Jedreply I once had when I nudged them about stealing someone's thing (tweet, or not, I can't remember). The classic, "What?," was sent back at me.

Ah! As we said earlier, tweets are fair game (words to that effect) once they're out in the ether!

Well, after what seemed like an enternity, I decided to stop reading back into their history...at least until tomorrow. I'm sure there must be an easier way to see all their tweets...

Oh no,we need plenty of fans to rationally and calmly put our case. (if we can keep our temper, which is hard at times!!) There are a lot more of us here this year so it might well be easier? It's not as bad as the BB forum to be honest, at least the ESC lot are reasonably literate.
