got one ear on CD and other on Steve Wright. It's the Fonze at the moment. he was in panto in liverpool not long ago. nice guy but want to hear Matt. He won't be on til after four now as they only do one guest per half hour.....

listening to the acoustic tracks back to back - not sure that's best cos on first listen they seem too samey. is that just me? gorgeous voice tho.maybe cos I don't know them well enough yet. how can that reviewer have said he was out of tune??? it's perfect

I've just been into Watford to get my physical copy of Matt's album from HMV. There were huge posters at the door advertising Noel Gallagher but there was no Matt promotion. However, there were lots of Matt CDs available in a very prominent position near the entrance.

The Tesco superstore had Matt at number one with a lot more rows of CDs than Noel had at number 2. They're obviously not flying off the shelves yet but it's only Monday.

I really like the album, I like all the songs and can even listen to RFYL within the context of the album. There may be something wrong with my taste but I'm not quite getting the love for Starlight To me, it's one of the least memorable tracks but it's probably a grower because I can see I'm in the minority I agree with whoever said that Stars and Lovers would make a good single because it's instantly catchy and tuneful, it's up tempo and I could see it appealing to the younger market who buy singles. It sounds recognisable which is a good thing. However, I can see that the consensus view is that Starlight is the standout track so I'll just have to give it a few more listens.

The poster who said that Matt won't get a number one album shouldn't be so premature in his predictions. The midweeks will be out at noon tomorrow and then we will know where Matt is likely to chart.

Did they even apologise? I've heard Play's Customer Service can be quite dodgy when it comes to refunds!

Im glad R1 have played starlight,IMO i never thought that they had a problem with matt himself but the song.

most of the interviews are i think. he said Henry Winkler was at a school this afternoon and they'd spoken earlier. wonder if he'll do Russell Grant this half hour and put Matt in 4.30-5pm?

I agree, Noel will be number 1. But he is a legend with a massive fanbase; nothing wrong in coming second to Noel G. I loved the early Oasis stuff.

I've listened to his album and it's actually really good. It's like the early Oasis stuff... so yeah. I think Noel will get the #1. But its all about sales. I'm just not really sure what sales are good for a first week. 100, 000? Or is that too ambitious?

Matt has got his own very individual singing style to me, some may not like or appreciate it (like this reviewer). Its all down to ones own personal taste As long as YOU enjoy it, then I personally dont give a fig what anyone else thinks

The other day I also saw the album labelled as dud of the week (The Times I believe it was) - it appears to be doing just fine for a "dud"

I was tempted whilst in Tesco today, They listed both the standard and the deluxe and I decided to go for it and buy deluxe...guess what..they haven't got them in yet, only the standard so I'm holding out for my Amazon delivery after all. Interestingly, they have him at one as well, with Noel at two. I had a secret smile to myself when I saw that Matt's piles were much emptier than his, it gave me a little glimmer of hope. Also noticed big price difference Morrisons 10 pounds whereas Tesco only charging eight pounds!!!
