I just keeping thinking of when Matt said the second single will be worth the wait and I think he feels just the same about this as we do. I just hope he can bounce back with the album and it'll go to show this should never have been the first single. I don't think it's gonna get to no.1, probably not close.

And I agree about the telling porkies bit, although he was probably referring to the studio with all the people rather than the stage itself. I also thought "yeah right" when he was telling the boys he wishes he was doing it all again

Aw meeek don't stress. His performance did him a lot of good last night. His album is going to do well. Despite what the "fountains on knowledge" on the MF try to say, it doesn't matter a single iota about single sales if his album does well. And everything is pointing to it doing just that.

I will panic if the album bombs. Then I will hold up my hands and say fair enough. Smile! In a week we will have the album in our hands and we will see what happens then. Look at it this way. Noel Gallachers single got to something ridiculous like number 17 in the singles charts. His album is tipped to fly. Ok before I get jumped on I know it's sort of different for Noel because he is a massive massive success but the principle is the same. I didn't think for one minute Matt would get to no1 with RFYL. I said top 3-5. He is never going to outsell the juggernaut that is rhianna in the singles chart.? He has a fantastic chance of grabbing number 1 or 2 on the album charts the next week hopefully with good sales.

Hi tilly i agree with every word and after those perforamances last night I am so very proud of the person who is Matt Cardle. Matt is fantastic his album is going to be a smash.

Actually Ive often wondered, with the album coming out so soon after the single , whether his fans would just go straight for the album anyway!

Its just so frustrating though isnt it!? Look how we were all blown away by his live performances in the last few weeks!! With so much oomph and energy!! But all the GP see is Matts performance last night that was just............ Well, NOT HIM!!! AAAARRRGGG!!

Yes but he enjoyed it Meeerkatt he said he did. He said if it was n ot for the X F he would still be knocking at the doors of recording companies or sending them tapes and they turning him down. I don't like it but we got to see the Matt and to hear his lovely voice We also got to see SS songs and Darwyn songs ..........I had no idea they existed prior to Matt being on the XFR. . Now he is sighned with Columbia records and is touring too wow what more could he want. He is also going on tour in the new year too.

I have to say Im with Suz. If it wasn't for the Xf we wouldnt have heard of him - AmazinSu excepted. If it wasn't for the XF he wouldn't be signed to Columbia. if it wasn't for the XF he wouldnt be getting the promotional boost he's getting. I dont even like the show (to put it mildly) and I can see that. Matt is part signed to Syco and he'd be a hypocrite to turn on the Xf now. Im very glad he isnt and he didnt.

I know he can't afford to turn his nose up at any chances of promotion this week of all weeks - but I am a bit p*ssed off that he is going to Pseudio 1 again, when they have kept him on their "C" list the whole way, whilst 1D were "A" listed and Cher's new single has gone straight to the "B" list. A listing on the "A" list would have given him much more airplay on a station whose listeners are more singles rather than albums driven.

Yes thats exactly what I have posted too liz and we also would n ot have heard the SS songs either. Agree with all you have said liz. Syco and Columbia are not about to let this golden egg fall through their fingers.

That's a real shame but I know exactly how you feel. I too feel like it's time to get some perspective. I'm not going to post here until the album is out at least and certainly not doing the iTunes watch we did last night. I've been doing ghos for a year now and it's time to move on.

I forgot to say that I think the strategy they are employing is an album selling one and in that context it seems to be going well. As I've said before id rather he had a smaller audience for this authentic material than a huge one by being someone else. I'm a huge fan but I have just found the micromanagement we have been doing recently insane - and I need to stop.

Of course I know all that, and am grateful for it! My problem has always been with the format and the intent of the show.
Matt obviously had to way up the pros and cons. He wasnt getting anywhere on his own, but he knew that by going on the show he was sacrificing his integrity/credibility, call it what you will!!
He probably had the same contempt for the show that a lot of us on here have!
The format of the show just does not allow the contesrants to showcase thier individuality properly!! They are all put into little boxes not of their own making!!
I find the whole thing sickening!!!

Totally agree Wkd - Columbia know what they are doing. Frankly have never had time for the micro management - I'll stick around but it won't be any more frequently!
