Kate Bush - Wildman
Just heard the new single on Ken Bruce's show, and my first impression is that this is one of her mesmeric, slow burning tracks. I liked it a lot on first play, and think it's one that I'll be loving by the end of s few more plays. Reminiscent, in some ways, of the vibe she had going on 'How To Be Invisible.'
If the rest of the album is up to this, we're all going to be delighted in November.

I've no idea what to think really (as is the usual Kate reaction)... That was only the radio edit we heard, and I get the impression there's a lot more to the song. It never quite took off for me, but as you say, it's clearly a slow burner. I couldn't understand a word she was saying, but the chorus is yapping away in my head right now, so that's a good sign!

LOVED IT! I do need to hear the full uncut track though but I really do like it. I am even more excited now for the new album (didn't think that was possible)... Can't wait for 12.01am to download the song

I enjoyed it too. It's great to have Kate back with new material. Worth the wait

http://disconaivete.com/post/11268806108 - It certainly needs a few more listens to fully appreciate the subtleties of the track but it is ABSOLUTELY mesmerizing!!!

It just sounds beautiful. I have listened to it 8 times so far. I can't get the chorus out of my head. The song has that epic feel like several tracks on Aerial. I loved Aerial. It took a few listens to appreciate that album but the more I listen to it, the more I love it... Nov 21st cannot come quick enough. I am so excited for the new material
![]() - but you seem totally spot on about what it feels like![]() . It really goes round circle with some of her previous work, doesn't it? I haven't bought Aerial yet - I still have to get into SW, RS but from what I heard on youtube, it is a very dense album so I'm sure it takes quite a while to get into! On a small note, love how she keeps her voice in such low register throughout the whole track!? |

I think it is great. Not what I was expecting at all. After Director's Cut, I was expecting it to be quite bare and 'live' which I wasn't looking forward to. I think DC only worked because we could contrast and appreciate them alongside the originals. 'Wild Man' is very good though. It is different in a good way. I like voices in the chorus and the upbeat beats in the song.
Will it be Kate's second number 1? No. Will it crack the Top 10? It really deserves to. I hope it doesn't flop like 'Deeper Understanding'. Does anyone know if there will be a video? |

I have only listened to it once - didn't want to spoil it by listening again in a hurry so will do it when I get home

Have only heard it about four times so far but, as with Kate's best work, it really grows on you. |

It actually sounds quite commercial, which I wasn't expecting, but it doesn't sound very Kate Bush. Whatever that is...
I like it a lot but I wish there was more singing on it. A lot of muttering and vocal but some real soaring Kate Bush singing. But it's great. Prefer it to A Deeper Understanding. |

You really must buy Aerial - naturally we all have different tastes, but the general consensus seems to be that it's one of Kate's best albums, and to my mind it quite possibly IS her best. I love it.

I've just started to build my KB collection so I'm still going through Red Shoes & Sensual World. As you know it takes many listens to fully grasp Kate's albums but Aerial will come next

I heard that it's only available on download - does this mean it won't enter the charts?

I'm still undecided about this track, I don't love it and I don't hate it, it's a bit 'meh' and verging precariously on new-age, which is always a bit of a concern. But I do actually love her new voice.
