I just can't wait to see them on tour. The vocals this morning were lovely and while I hope they keep some numbers more uptempo and dancey, I really love how they arranged Deeper Shade of Blue. It's great Steps are back.

thanks for posting. an interesting point for me was the confusion over their record sales. helen said they sold 10 million records, faye said they sold 20 million and on the montage it said they sold 15 million!

i just had a look on the lorraine website and there are negative comments about the performance. i thought it was ok and quite polished to be honest. i guess times have changed and people are used to singers singing to playback while assuming it is totally live.

either that or people are used to them miming, i think they just cant win, if they mimed they would get scrutinised for miming, now they sing live they are still getting scrutinised. At least they have the guts to sing live to prove they can sing like some other people!

I've already added it...the performance not the interview. Get them on Strictly I say...plus all the professional dancers performing the famous Steps steps.

They are ten years older. They were on a punishing schedule back in the day, so they were jolly fit. My guess is that they are gearing themselves up slowly for the tour. Everyone has to pace themselves, including Steps.

To all the critics, I thought they were great this morning...better than their This Morning performances.

im so happy to see they are now number 1 in the album midweek chart, looks like they might just snatch the number 1 on sunday.

I hope they manage it. A No.1 Steps album in 2011 will just be magnificent.

yeah but what i am saying is that, even people on here where saying something along the lines of 'I'm not going to see them on tour because all they will do is mime, like they did 10 years ago' and now they are singing live people are still scrutinising them. People like that get on my tits! LMAO!

i probably wont go to the tour. partly the reason is because i have seen them previously. i really enjoyed the time i seen them and part of me wants to go again. however, i am holding out for the possible girls aloud reunion next year. i never saw the girls live, so that has to be rectified for me.

I'd say within a week or so. I should imagine the management are rubbing their hands together with glee at the recent, surprising success and I should image they're busy going through writers/producers as we speak.

So would be the ideal person/people for Steps to work with on this one? Pete again?

Deffo not Pete Waterman, they must stay away from him, he was good in his hey day but not anymore! Like i have said in another post, if they wanna sound current and up to date i think they should work with some good dance producers/writers like RedOne, Tiësto, David Guetta or even people like Max Martin & Dr. Luke or maybe they might shock us and work with someone like Tricky Stewart!

personally, i wouldn't want them to stray away from their original path. max martin or dr. luke could deliver that sound along with possibly xenomania? i agree there should be a natural progression. however, they wouldn't want to alienate their loyal fan base.

Elliot Kennedy seemes to really enjoy working with them, perhaps they should work with him more.

I remember not being a fan of DSOB at all back when it was first released. Now I LOVE it! It's actually a fabulous song. Better late than never, though, I guess. LOL.

i was like that with Chain Reaction now I LOVE it! Like I have said before the bridge into the last chorus is one of the greatest STEPS moments!

Xenomania seems a good choice for them..maybe a mix of them and Elliott?..I just want pure pop to come back to be honest
