I wasn't going to bother as I already have Gold but when I read on here there was a DVD with all the videos I just had to buy it.

Now I just need to get my tickets for the concert. I feel a bit of a saddo but I'm going with my mum so at least I won't be the oldest person there I've already been practising the routines in my office as we have a radio station playing older music. Ace!”

LMAO! WOOP WOOP! haha but them being sold out has nocked their amazon chart number down 6 from 3 to 9 hopefully now with more in stock they can climb back up and fast!

i am not sure if that is factually correct, they were always on jive records. he was a songwriter/producer and was involved with the project that way.

i went to their tour in 2000. they were clearly miming most of the time. it doesn't matter how many times you dismiss this fact. it was well reported and most concert attendees know the truth.

He was the producer on most of their tracks...an excellent one in my view.

Most singers and bands mime on television because it is quicker from a sound engineer's point of view, and much easier.

Pete Waterman owns PWL / PWE, but I am not sure now whether they are part of a bigger conglomerate. I have a feeling that they might be part of SONY/BMG, but I may be wrong there.

You are right that Pete Waterman, along with Mark Topham and Karl Twigg fulfilled most of the writing / production duties for Steps.

Obviously it is better for singers to perform live, but virtually impossible for them to if they are required to perform vigorous dance routines, like Steps do. It isn't possible from a breathing point of view, for example.

there are conflicting items written on wikipedia for example. there is an item that suggests that they were signed to ebul. however, there is no evidence to back it up. i was always under the impression they were signed to jive exclusively. that is how they ended up on britney`s us tour. they were label mates.

i am not having a go at steps for miming. most manufactured pop acts at the time were and it still happens today. what i did take exception to, were claims that they never mimed on tour. that is not true.

Jive and Ebul may come under the same parent company...not sure.

I have never seen Steps 'live', so I can't comment...however if I did, I would want them to sound like they do on their tracks.

i maybe wrong, it is easy to prove. someone just needs to look at one of their cds. if ebul was their label, it will be clear for everyone to see. i don't have any of their cds to hand.

I saw Steps live twice as a kid, and where I was too young to care, my Mum says that a fair chunk of the show was mimed. She seems to recall that the slower tracks were sung live though. I think their dancing was the issue, they were pretty non-stop.

It'll be interesting to see if they mime on this tour though. They sang live on This Morning and sounded great. Perhaps they'll mention it on one of remaining reunion shows.

I suspect they won't do quite so much dancing this time around...but if they do, it will be during the instrumental breaks perhaps and / or involve those who aren't singing.

Go and watch the Gold Tour on DVD and you can hear they mime to pre-recorded vocals..apart from ITWYMMF..and in any case my point was about miming on tv shows”

I do know that! I was speaking in relation to who Pete Waterman was! Please refer to my earlier posts in future when making a decision on what a follow up post was referring to in order to avoid any future confusion.

You are right. The world does indeed look and sound brighter with the return of Steps. They provide perfect, positive pop. Love it!

Bought our copy of the GH today! Well, my Mum did. She bought it with her birthday money. It's been played non-stop since we got home. It's such cheese, but it's SO nice to have the music playing again (even if I've been playing it all over the last few months anyway, LOL.)

Gutted I wont be able to go and see the tour though.
