Aptly named lol

I'm in my thirties now but still love Steps. Unless its stuff like teletubbies and tweenies CDs I don't see why being older should stop you liking music you liked when you were a lot younger.

To the Scot who was saying about the ticket prices, I've paid £81.50 for two tickets in Aberdeen. It is a wee bit more expensive than other concerts I've paid for lately but only a few pounds more each. I've just checked and including P&P, for example, X Factor would have cost about £37 per person and that is full of people who aren't even established artists. I don't mind paying a few quid more to see a group I've never seen live for a bit of nostalgia

I must be a total tighta*** then (I blame my mother!) cos I think it's a bit dear for a bit nostalgia

YAY WOOO! STEPS lives on in all our hearts! And it looks like STEPS are flabbergasted at the support that is still here for them!

Indeedie same here! I never thought i'd see the day that STEPS where #1 on the iTunes chart! I'm loving every single minute of it! :P Seriously we need to get these on X Factor! a sunday night performance would just be the cherry on the top of the cake for this STEPS Reunion, if they did I could see them doing a medley of 4 or 5 of their tracks!
MMmm...not sure I want them associated with The X Factor juggernaut. They don't need it. Spots on Strictly would be good.

Can I ask what is so great about steps?
Everyones making such a deal over their comeback and I didn't even know who their were until a few days ago.
Is their music good I've never heard any of it?

Hey guys - my first post here!

Just thought i'd make a post to say that I think it is fantastic that Steps are back!

I was a huge fan when I was little of all of their songs and have been religiously watching their Living documentary.

Bought the Ultimate Collection last night - even though I had already been listening to it loads on Spotify!

I wanted to show my support and try and get it to number one so thought i'd buy it!

I am loving it.

Their music is just so good - it's harmless, fun, brilliant pop and what always impressed me about them is when they covered a song, they always put their stamp on it and made it almost even better!

Their best song for me though will always be 'Loves Got A Hold On My Heart'.
Love it!

Glad to see it's doing so well in the charts.
Although it looks like it will be number 2 come Sunday. It made me chuckle actually, as Steps always said they had 2 number ones, and about a million number 2's!
Maybe this entering at 2 is a good sign!! Here's hoping!

I think Take That grew to have a broader appeal than Steps ever did. Didn't the Spice Girls try to reform once and it turned into a disaster?

been listening to the album constantly since yesterday. I'm actually amazed at how consistently fabulous it is, even the latter tracks, especially Stomp and You'll Be Sorry.

Anyway, here's what I think of the tracks -

1. 5,6,7,8 - 8/10
2. Last Thing on My Mind - 9/10
3. One for Sorrow - 9.5/10
4. Heartbeat - 8/10
5. Tragedy - 8.5/10
6. Better Best Forgotten - 8.5/10
7. Love's Got a Hold on My Heart - 9/10
8. After the Love Has Gone - 8.5/10
9. Say You'll Be Mine - 7/10
10. Better the Devil You Know - 6/10
11. Deeper Shade of Blue - 10/10
12. When I Said Goodbye -4/10
13. Summer Of Love - 8.5/10
14. Stomp - 9/10
15. It's the Way You Make Me Feel - 8.5/10
16. Here And Now - 8.5/10
17. You'll Be Sorry - 9.5/10
18. Chain Reaction - 7/10
19. I Know Him So Well - 8/10
20. Dancing Queen -7/10

if you consider having a successful tour of europe and north america. with 17 nights sold out at the o2 arena a disaster. then yes the spice girls did reform for that.

i think the spice girls gets a mixed responce to their comeback, while the tour did extremely well i think the fact UK wise the comeback single was their first ever to miss the top 10 and sold badly and the greatest hits barely made platnum kin of marred their comeback. Dont get me wrong i dont mind the spice girls but thats what in my opinion kind of marred their comeback.

Take That, when they cameback everything just went well, huge selling greatest hits i think 1.8 million to date in the uk, there comeback single was a huge number 1 and the tour was massive so in a way their was nothing to mare their comeback and it stands out. Additionaly they went on and continued their success and ended up being far more successful 2nd time round.

Steps while at the moment its potentialy looking like a successful comeback as the tour seems to be doing well aswell as the album, time will tell how successful their comeback really is if they reform and release new material, that will be the tester, as i said the new material as in the single didnt go down well for the spice girls so if steps go down that route i hope they can comeback with strong material and it does well for them.

I would love steps to stay together and hopefully make good throw away pop music like they did, i firmly believe their is room for them in the market and their is a gap for a mixed group to be big with decent pop songs and from all the pop/boyband/girlbands from the 90's etc i think steps are the ones that can do it, best of luck to them, but what i will say is no matter what happens im glad they semed to have sorted out their differences among themselves and even if this album is the last from them and the tour, they as people can close the steps chapter on a better note than the last time.

Like I keep referring back to what Lisa said in the DS interview 'There is a gap in the market here' & 'We need good cheesey pop music right now with the current government crisis'

...but more importantly, they fill a pop void in my opinion. Where is all the pop currently? It's either dubstep stuff or X Factor stuff...Steps provide decent, quality pop in my view...with a very strong nod to Abba!

I'd love to but I only have Steptacular buried somewhere deep in my cd collection. That's why I was quite shocked at the quality of the latter stuff, I wasn't that familiar with it and imagined it to be complete and utter dogshit but it was rather splendid, IMO.

Hmmm. I feel a trip to That's Entertainment coming on. They're bound to have the other albums in there for 99p.

I agree. There may be Abba fans who would disagree with that but I love both Steps and Abba and there is something very Abba-like in their music. Both are very feelgood, if you're down, put on some Steps and it will cheer you up. They've always had that affect on me.

Steps were the first artist I ever went to see in concert in 2001, I was only 10 but I remember having a great time and it was a total surprise. I came back from school one day and my parents were like "We're taking you to see Steps tonight" I almost died of excitement!

I haven't got The Ultimate Collection yet, I thought I'd get the chance today but wasn't very well so just been listening to it on Spotify to make me feel better

When I was getting ready for uni the other morning, they were on This Morning and I was singing and dancing along to them, brought back some good memories. Never ashamed to love Steps. Can't wait to see them in April!
