Really dislike the Charleston, Rock 'n' Roll, Salsa.

I hate cheesy, gurning dances - and I dislike the salsa because often, I can't discern what exactly they are supposed to do, unlike the samba.

Salsambcha... not a fan.

The Samba. It's inevitably a let down (I've only liked one in the last couple of series), it's too similar to the Salsa (or, it's choreographed that way) and the music usually doesn't suit it.

But the rumba is a beautiful dance(when done properly of course).

I could do without the rumba and the charleston.
And I reckon the samba and the salsa are a bit too alike, so we could do without one or the other. DOesn't matter which.

It might be interesting to see them try some old time stuff, Sequence Dancing. Especially if they had to do it like it's done in competition, all of them on the floor at the same time doing the same steps so as the judges can compare them against each other.

Even though I'm not a massive fan of a lot of Sequence - it canbe quite sedate, I suppose, at least it would show up technical discrepancies really quickly.

I am finding that all the Latin dances are morphing into one.

It was difficult to tell the difference between the salsa and the cha cha - only the arms gave it away.

I think it's because it's difficult to determine the tempo from the music being played sometimes.

The Charleston or The Jive could go for me. The Jive only suits the younger contestants.

This is a list of the dances which have appeared in the American version - they seem quite fond of adding and taking away dances on a whim

Foxtrot
Paso Doble
Waltz
Quickstep
Rumba
Tango
Argentine Tango
Samba
Salsa
Charleston

Right , so far so good. Oh wait, hang on....

Country Two-Step
Lambada
Lindy Hop
West Coast Swing
Hustle
Bolero

And Freestyle

So....er....Hustle, anyone? Or what about a bit of London Hip-Hop/Street ?

You philistine! Seein Vincent and Flavia dance that every year is nothing short of a pleasure- then we have celebs who've done it will, Ramps, Emma Bunton, all the lot of series 6, Ricky W, Kara... Argentine Tango should be treasured and never, ever allowed to leave

Also, in addition, I quite like Salsambacha! And Charleston for that matter. Rumba- hmmm. The pros do it well, I always enjoy their demonstrations, but it really does sort the best from the rest as to celebs who can do it. Can't really see Lulu bucking that trend on Saturday...

One to lose, Viennese Waltz, I see no reason for doing two swivelly Waltzes. I quite like to see the Hustle/West Coast Swing make their way over from the US...

This is my FAVOURITE dance, when done well.

Yeah, maybe it should be left until well into the competition, it's all in the hips, takes some of the celebs a while to find them.

Charleston
Lindyhop
Rock n Roll
Jive

None of the above are ever elegant or graceful & they tend to encourage silly props & costumes. Pls get rid of!!!

The only exception was Scott & Natalie's Jive & I'm confident that will never be repeated.!

On the subject of Rumbas, has there ever been a good male one? I'm struggling to think of any.

Cant believe there arent more votes for the Viennese Waltz!!

We already have a perfectly fine waltz, the Viennese is dull, dull, DUUUUULLL!!

Honestly I could drop off when its on...

Agreed.

Ricky Whittle - a far superior dancer would have won SCD if it wasn't for Chris Hollins and that stupid Charleston.

I like the Rumba and the Viennese Waltz. I loathe the lindyhop and would quite happily never see that again.

Other than those 2 dances the rest is okay.”

I'm really confused! How can Matt and Aliona's Charleston be a joy to watch and a disaster?

Personally, up until last year I would have said the rumba, I have to watch them from behind a cushion but then I would have missed Artem and Kara's rumba. But seeing as how no-one will ever match it and I have to go back to watching from behind a cushion - the rumba! Ewwww!

I really don't like the Salsa like it isn't one I look forward to, like the others though but as long as they didn't touch any of the standard dances at any point I wouldn't be too bothered about what happened to the others

The only pro who knew how to dance salsa was Brian.
His salsa with Heather is one of my favourite strictly dances and very underrated.
I think it should be dropped until they have another specialist.

Rock and roll is too much like the jive to be included.

Viennese Waltz is probably my least favourite dance and I wouldn't miss it at all.

Could not agree with you more Venetia. Nobody came close to Fortuna in the Salsa stakes.

I loathe and despise all things Lindyhop, most especially the cheesy outfits!

The American Smooth, formerly known as Ballroom Exhibition. It isn't a proper ballroom dance at all, being a mixture of ballroom and stage (surprise, surprise!). They used to do it at the British Championships in Blackpool - the couples would come out one at a time (contrary to ballroom convention) and do a pretend ballroom dance with dancing apart, lifts etc. It has been dropped now, thank goodness, but it has popped up under another name in this show.

I did hear a rumour that Len Goodman had won some competition in Ballroom Exhibition, which wouldn't surprise me - he doesn't seem to have done anything much in proper ballroom.

That's usually my favourite, it was my favourite dance from last year, Kara and Artem's AS was sublime even if it broke the rules.

I'm not much of a purist though.

I'd happily get rid of the Rumba. Kara and Artems was beautiful to watch but all of the others have made me want to claw my eyes out.

I like the Charleston but only if they stop showing clips of the Hollins gurning face.

Don't want to see Rock and Roll return.
