The British Invasion
Despite being born nearly 30 years after it began, I've always been very interested in the British Invasion period of music in the 60's.
Who was your favourite British Invasion band/ artist and what song do you think encapsulates the Invasion best. I've always loved The Animals and there take on Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood (whilst originally by Nina Simone) is probably one of my favourite songs of the era. I also love the Rolling Stones 1965 B-Side "Play With Fire", which to me, is the closest a song can come to perfection! |

My favourite British Invasion is Dusty Springfield
She really set the standard for every British Female of today. She really managed to prove that White people can do soul as well. Her music is and will remain timeless. Pure and real Soul music. She and her music are full of class and no one can top that. |
