Yep same few posters posting the same shite 5/6 times a day, slowly killing the thread.
I don't even want to comment on it particularly, but felt compelled to give some badly needed context.

I'm just bored of the spin now. It astounds me that the camp on here that maintain it is doing fantastically every time there's a rise can't see how their reasoning is as flawed as the tabloid journalists that claim it's in crisis. Both as bad as eachother!
My god you can talk! Whats BB getting 1 - 1.5 million

Yes and the ratings have barely changed since it started. It's on a new channel, what's The X Factor's excuse?

Im more of a lurker then a poster on this thread but how the hell can you mention people spinning stuff. You try and spin a 1.4 ratings for BB.

All the people just wanting shows to do badly because they love or hate a particular channel is completely alien too me, really don't understand it and it spoils my reading of what once was one of my favourite threads on DS

XF getting over 12m and SCD getting over 10m on a Sunday are brilliant ratings for both channels

Absolutely untrue. I don't toe the party line that it's a total disaster, but that's different. I've said since the start that the ratings are disappointing.

I totally agree. I set up this topic a few years ago and now I see it be weighed down by vitriol and hatred against a channel. I really don't get these people's fixation and desperation to see certain shows and channel fail. It has made me too want to avoid the Ratings Thread.

I agree. It's like you can't watch all channels because you need to be a fan of just one.

Perhaps...

A second thread could be created, where only "actual ratings" are cc-ed, so that people that just want to see how programmes fared could have somewhere to look for them, without having to wade through the "yahboosucks" opinion posts?

Tbf everyone knows the like 3 people who are 'channel fan boys' (didn't know they could exist till I came on here!)

Well I should say 4 - but Sam is just obsessed with one show He thinks am attacking it even when I call it brilliant

Great for Countryfile. I've never seen it but whatever they are doing on it they are doing it well!

Very good for X Factor to gain over 2m overnight and about 3m in peak. This "crisis" splashed across the tabloids is all a bit OTT.

Huh? I've got nothing against ITV. I don't watch it all that much, but I accept it's there and does a lot of good.

However, I'm not going to pretend it's biggest ratings banker is doing fantastically this year when it's not. Sorry if that makes me a bad guy. It also seems to be hurting things around it like The Cube which creates a bigger problem for ITV, contributing to some significant declines in audience share.

How about we make two threads. One for ratings to be discussed without opinion etc. And another where people can go into analysis and focus on there channel bias etc.

I don't know about that. I'd say Strictly having a bigger year hurt The Cube more when they clashed than a lower X Factor rating on Saturdays?

Countryfile is the perfect sunday evening program. I said a few days ago that it must be the best decision ever to put in the time slot. it's on almost every week of the year and still gets 5-8m

Strictly being up about 300k y-o-y as impressive as that might be does not account for the 1.2m or so viewers that The Cube has lost since its Q4 2010 series.

It's more likely that the 2m or so that The X Factor has lost for its Sunday show since 2009 and 2010 is having an effect on the warmup programme.

My bad, I thought Strictly was up quite a bit more than that.

I actually like it all in one place. And I skim past posts I'm not interested in.

One thing does make me laugh is that you can always tell which channel did better in the ratings by which press office posts 1st & which stays silent.

Or maybe people are getting bored of the cube. It didn't do well last series did it?
