Some of the discussion on here is painful. I've always bought into and enjoyed the X Factor/Strictly rivalry but reading this thread is quickly becoming a chore. It's not even the fact that people are defending or slating X Factor or anything else that is the main problem but the fact is that some of the posts are just so inane and banal. The same things are said every day and every week and it is just so dull. I generally tend to defend X Factor but there's no denying that the ratings are down y-o-y and ITV aren't going to be thrilled. Sunday's rating will be a relief for them more than anything and whilst it's great for this series it still doesn't compare well historically. I'm just fed up of seeing posts from people who clearly have nothing better to do than defend or attack any rating for X Factor and spam the thread with constant 'what will X Factor get this week?' or 'X Factor is amazing no matter what' or 'X Factor is down hahaha' rubbish. There's an X Factor ratings thread over in the X Factor forum - USE IT! Obviously it will be discussed a lot here too as it is the biggest show on TV and is experiencing a decline but it's like pulling teeth at the moment and is dragging the whole thread down.

Rant over.

Yep same few posters posting the same shite 5/6 times a day, slowly killing the thread.
Its pretty awful now, im sure we will get 10 pages again today of the same rubbish mainly because of the few morons that have now found this thread.

Brilliant for Countryfile on Sunday, standout rating by far.

FC Halifax Town v Charlton Athletic is ITV's first FA Cup match. Read a comment on another thread saying the build up is going to be 85 minutes

Great for Countryfile. I've never seen it but whatever they are doing on it they are doing it well!

Very good for X Factor to gain over 2m overnight and about 3m in peak. This "crisis" splashed across the tabloids is all a bit OTT.
The tabloids have had a major error in how they report it I think. Their overwriting their previous claims with other claims - all based on the fact their first figures were wrong as are their second figures.

The worst people hit by X Factor this year are the tabloids and magazines who I doubt have been selling much more than usual. Which is kinda shown by The Sun's ridiculous race row story with Kitty.

The reporting is all a bit of a mess and theres too many numbers, the journalists have no idea about the ratings numbers (the first ratings story they took from a blog and was 100% incorrect information!)

Only thing worth reporting was this Saturday really. Thats it.
