Charlie's Angels had completed 8 episodes when production was shut down this week.

I hope not. It's quite an unpleasant little show, and rather sordid in places.

Although, I suspect it helps to keep Stephen Tompkinson with Wild at Heart.

so should anyone want them, whoever it selling the show, can sell those 8, rather than the 4 aired.

ITV aired previously unaired episodes of (CBS) Wolf Lake, long before they got an outing on UPN.

Its certainly not the case that the show will go unaired, ok im sure the fee will be reduced, but the episodes may still air.

Never heard of him.

Lenny Henry for The Voice, then?

Is it? I haven't seen any of it but the impression I've got is that it's very average and very ordinary (and doesn't do much justice to the books it's based on), so I'm surprised at that. It certainly seems a million miles away from Tompkinson's other show Wild at Heart! I do think it probably helps keep him on WAH and that might just be the main reason ITV choose to keep it around as they don't seem very enthusiastic about it.

Good (by recent standards) for Big Brother, very good for Bit On The Side (one of it's highest ratings in recent weeks?) and solid for Police Interceptors and The Bachelor

That's a series high for the show.”

Something, other than Benidorm (and I'm a Celebrity/BGT), that produces more than mediocre figures for ITV1 in the Friday 9pm slot. Doubt they can afford regular new drama in that slot, but some carefully chosen crime drama repeats could be an idea. Say Doc Martin repeats next year? Or even Scott and Bailey before the second series starts?

And we should be glad they dont-or this thread would be pretty boring I reckon.”

It puzzles me why there's a fuss about it, though. If I wanted to watch X Factor at 7.45pm, I'd watch it. I wouldn't stay tuned to BBC One, with my stopwatch, shaking my head and tutting because Harry Judd hadn't danced yet.

The X Factor finished 5 minutes early which may hurt the overnights while The Xtra Factor started five minutes early on ITV2 which may boost Superhuman.

There was one episode where a wheelchair-bound woman was pushed up a hill and set on fire at the start. Goodness knows what the fans of "The nice vet from Wild at Heart and the nice priest from Ballykissangel" made of that!

I'm old enough to remember when nearly all ITV programmes finished five minutes early! The only times they didn't were when there was an American drama in the schedule, and they needed to run a bit late in the early evening to compensate for the import's shorter running time.

But, there were only four channels in those days...

Of those I'd think Revenge or Hart of Dixie would fit best with E4 and both have a back 9 order. In general I think Channel 4 would be advised to make a play for Revenge. I'm also intrigued to see if anyone bites on Once Upon A Time which still looks like an incredibly tough sell to me.

On top of all that there's the midseason offerings with the likes of Smash, Awake, The River, Missing, Scandal, The 2-2, Alcatraz and Touch. After the success of Glee 4 should probably take a look at Smash and think about running it on the main channel.”

I'd guess Sky will make a move for some of those midseason shows (Awake, Alcatraz and Touch in particular). Smash seems like something everyone could be after. I think it'll definitely have an older audience than Glee.

Hart of Dixie seems to be a bit of a surprise - I don't think many people expected it to be doing OK numbers compared to Ringer and Secret Circle (with a TVD lead-in). Could be the kind of thing that ends up on Viva or MTV, I think. Although to be fair, I haven't actually watched it.

Quote:
“Of course if I'm a E4 I'd probably be looking at buying in some more comedies rather than dramas. Suburgatory feels like a good fit for E4 as does Up All Night and again both of those have back 9 orders.”

E4 have already got a few new sitcoms lined up after the deal with FOX (Allen Gregory, Napoleon Dynamite, Apartment 23, New Girl). Plus they bought 2 Broke Girls.

I think Suburgatory might end up on Sky1.

Quote:
“I doubt it.

The X Factor US might not be as big as expected but its still big and still powering Fox to a Fall victory. The bottom will really have to fall out of the show for them not to renew it.”

Indeed. Although Sunday could very well be a bit of a nightmare for them given the short notice. FOX are doing well but they do have some uncertainty ahead with Glee, House and Terra Nova (will they still be there next year? And how will they be doing?). So I'd imagine it will take a pretty hefty fall for them to even consider removing X Factor. And Syco's focus needs to be on new shows anyway.

I suggest you watch ITV2's Mintue to Win It next week as he is hosting that.

You are right that you've never heard of him as he is pretty unknown but is more known in Australia. Born in the Uk but moved to Australia and picked up their accent (like John Barrowman did when moving to the US)

Most likely no but that was some time ago, constantly comparing it to CBB or expectations before this series isnt going to go anywhere. I just look at ratings relative to what the show has been getting in the last few weeks and eviction night did pretty well.

Weren't there complaints about adverts then???

That's true enough. The good thing for Channel 5 is it's stabilised instead of falling and there is a base audience, albeit lower than Channel 4's base audience, that can be built on. I just hope they sit down and really think out 2012. The problem is they've only got a couple of months between the end of BB12 and the start of CBB in January.

The Comic Strip Presents did pretty well, it was a lot better than the previous one, I do think Channel 4 should bring it back on an annual basis rather than a film every few years.

DCI Banks I think has done enough to secure a renewal.

That worries me slightly in terms of X Factors performance as last week I'm sure the share was above 40% but we'll have to wait and see the numbers.

Super stuff for Strictly, and I think that will mean that the gap is the closest this year.

Shifting Casualty right after Merlin worked really well. Up 600k and 2% on last week - despite a 50 minute, rather than 20 minute XF clash. I think they'll be doing that again!
