In shares? yes
in viewers? no

plus strictly's result has sort of leaked onto the internet I think or does that happen every week.

X-Factor is low, only just above 10 million if you include +1, is the show really starting to fail?

F1 ratings:

05:00 to 07:30 - 905k (47.1%) - live
13:00 to 14:15 - 1.46m (15.7%) - re-run

Happened every week that it was shown on the Sunday rather than the Saturday.

No it's not it's still the biggest program in UK. It's just this silly clash that is harming it

During the clash:

BBC1 vs ITV1
19:45 - 9.87m (38.7%) - 7.54m (29.5%)
20:00 - 9.63m (37.2%) - 8.82m (34.1%)

Meaning outside of the clash, from 18:25 to 19:45, Strictly averaged 8.79m (39.7%), while from 20:15 to 21:55, The X Factor averaged 10.30m (41.3%). I do wish I knew why ITV didn't move out of Strictly's way once they realised BBC were not going to budge.

ITV loses a lot more during the clash, suggesting to me that people are watching Strictly live, then skipping to X Factor, by my calculations if you started The X Factor at 20:15, skip the adverts, you would be finished by 10pm.

It's so silly isn't it. Very Very Childish. If i was ITV i would move XF next week to 8.15. Who cares about Jonathan Ross Starting after 10.00. X Factor is ITV's biggest show and they should be putting that as priority

I have to say a mini-ouch for TXF. The quality isn't good enough this year for many acts and the show isns't holding my interest as well as last year. I wonder how it compares to the equivalent episode last year. Dented quite significantly by SCD...I still don't know why they're clashing though. It's dragging both shows down.

The acts are fine, song choice/theme is the problem and the clash.

I just re-watched the highlights (or run down) of last years 2nd live show (sad I know, but I am sad) and it was appalingly bad just more interesting song choices. last night there was way too many slow songs.

A down week for X Factor - I suppose we can expect lots more "X Factor Crisis as Ratings Plummet" type headlines coming up very shortly then. And lots of people blaming evicted acts, excessive ad breaks, or the lack of some Geordie lass for the falling numbers... In other news, Harry Hill's numbers were quite underwhelming again by his own past standards - but as we said last week, this one seems to be looking for a place to land. And Jonathan Ross is OK, but you feel he ought to be better outrating his old 10.35 show by more than that - given the lead-ins!

A very good night for BBC One, which is probably making things more difficult for ITV. Strictly looks in very good health this series again, which is impressive considering the Widdecombe bounce (all in the ratings, none on the dance floor ) of last year. Merlin too seems to be gathering ratings in a way that befits a show really hitting it's stride. Criminally under appreciated, really. And as I said earlier, I'll be very surprised if the BBC don't stick to that line-up again with Casualty following immediately afterwards. The whole night looks a lot healthier with everything budged later, and no weak lottery quiz undoing all of Merlin's hard work.

It takes two to make a clash, if Strictly is proving a problem for "the biggest program in UK" ITV could schedule it away from Strictly.

its mainly due to the clash though 7.3 million while clash was on, going to dent it alot isn't it!

The Press will say it needs Cowell or Cole to come back, Vewiers arn't watching and don't like ads.

It Won't give the Facts that it was over 10m with +1 or when Strictly finished

I Agree. Strictly is doing very well from the clash so why should they move. It's X Factor that needs to schedule it away from Strictly this year.

Anyway could somone tell me what the peek was for X Factor?

If it hasn't clashed it would have got around 10.9 again, which is similar to 2009 also

what was the peak anyway?

lets not pretend that X-Factor has not done over 10 million without +1 many times before now.

As for Strictly, from what I recall of the line up, its a bunch of older women, and faded popstars, if that is what it takes to dent X-Factor, maybe its not as great as some think it is.

Strictly is very good this year. I Think 7 scores were over 30. i don't think that's ever happened at this stage has it? It could be a very Close series
