Yeh, usually its around November 22nd that the BBC announces the highlights for Christmas yet that website says by the 22nd we will know the highlights and when they are scheduled.

Gosh, maybe you need to stop watching daytime TV?

They're about the same as usual I think.

No it says that the schedules for Christmas fortnight will be confirmed on Tues 29th November, which seems about right. The highlights should be out on the 22nd but that's about the same as last year too. They all just seem slightly early this year as Christmas fortnight is being classed as the 17th-30th December rather than 24th Dec-6th Jan, so Christmas fortnight in itself is earlier this year.

The article says they are "expected to plummet".

Expected by... a Sun journalist probably.

I guess it's a rational belief...if ratings are down, then phone votes will follow suit.

I wonder whether 11.4m is the peak? We haven't had that yet. Or if we have, I've missed it.

it might well be the peek but they are making out the show averaged that.

It had 10.4 million...maybe spelling mistake.
Who knows - no doubt most of the article is rubbish

Not exactly Cowell's place to complain he left to start a new show in the states (thats flopping (a bit anyway)) and his most newest creation was R/B...(although tbf to him I often felt a bit odd for not expecting it to be a success! So many people were claiming otherwise)

But yeah - rubbish as usual.
But still the producers should be worried - no doubt the main article mentions the Strictly crossover (if it doesn't then The Sun is being a bit too lazy) and the papers might try and create a running theme.

The Sun website is a joke anyways atm - its been running stories on tiny bits of each new episode like its a big massive headline (we did watch it already Sun writers)

So 10.1m watched Strictly. X Factor got 11.4m and last year got 13.7m Really why don't the sun report the average and not the peeks

I suspect 11.4m is the peak without +1 as The Sun normally exclude it when writing a negative article. If that is the case then the peak including +1 will have been c12m.

Its from here. And its just plain wrong.

Claims 9.8 was the 'low'. And 11.4 was the 'average'.

And to think I always thought The Sun was a well respectable and fact checking paper
Obviously struggling now that they can't check 'evil peoples' voicemails for stories.

The Cube will certainly increase viewers for the timeslot but Strictly's results show was still rating highly against it I believe.

Did she not get deported in the end?

Most TV critics do that - it's basically intended just to be an amusing commentary on the show. There's no point doing an actual review (as you would of a new show) for X Factor or Strictly in their 8th years.

Apparently his 11 year old daughter has disowned him though.

Could have been interesting from a ratings perspective. Might have brought some fans of credible, proper, non-manufactured, "hard graft" music to the show.

Hell, even I might have tuned in... ”

I don't think Cowell was looking for credible music fans. More that Noel would do something stupid and/or controversial. Tbh, I'm not sure he would have been the answer. Maybe a bit of a novelty at first, I suppose.

That never stopped people watching X Factor (or Pop Idol for that matter) or The Voice in the US! They seem to be going down the right route with the judges. I think it could be quite big for them. It's not exactly a difficult sell.

Not a good advert for the show at all. Of course, we've known for some time it's not about finding someone with 'The X Factor' any more, this just underlines it. Someone with that special something would be selling more records.”

He's signed to a "joint deal" with Columbia which basically means they're managing his career on a day to day basis. I'd guess they'll have a significant say in whether he's dropped - he could be an albums artist to be fair - but the singles performance is so bad that I don't think it's looking good.

It'll be no surprise if Rebecca Ferguson (Syco/Epic), One Direction (Syco) and Cher Lloyd (Syco) sell more than the winner. The public don't seem to be great at picking them! Probably because they tend to go for the safer options in the end. 1D and Cher Lloyd are getting a lot of exposure just now so on that front it's looking quite good (even if it's not an actual winner in the news).

The runner ups tend to do better, JLS did extremely well despite not winning, One Direction appeal to do the teen girl crowd but I think one or flops and it's over. The X Factor seem to have more success with female winners than male winners, would love to see a group win one year but it's hasn't happened as of yet.

The One Show is dropped again in Scotland on Thursday in favour of Rangers: The Inside Story on BBC1 Scotland at 7 pm.It isn't moved to BBC2 either - does that mean it doesn't do particularly well north of the border ?
