Interesting to see how Glee which lost out to X Factor USA in the overnights (502k v 827k), beat it in the officials (1.1m v 1.0m).

Good on them for pointing out the 2.4m margin of SCD's head to head victory over TXF, even if the "half the viewers switched off" is pushing the truth in a way I'd be proud of!

How unusual for there to be only 4 entries for BBC Three in the multichannel top 30. With the daily staples EE and Family Guy both down year-on-year, and their big new show The Fades logging mediocre numbers at best, you'd have to conclude it's turning out to be a disappointing autumn for them.
Up For Hire Live starts tonight which may improve their fortunes. With ample promotion lined up on Radio 1 and 1Xtra through the day I can only imagine they have high expectations for this one.

If the BBC choose not to renew Family Guy could end up just about anywhere. Even with its current numbers it would be a valuable asset for any channel.

That's a really astounding level of stupidity - and we've seen plenty of it when it comes to tabloids reporting ratings. We can now wait and see which other source is first to add that particular stat to their reporting.
Holding Out For A Hero is surely one of the "flops of the year"? I have no idea why ITV have stuck with it this long. Anything would do better - Harry Hill or ASFF repeats being the most obvious options. I suspect that with The Cube before it, X Factor might find an extra half a million on Sundays.

Have to say that "The Fades" is actually bl@@dy excellent and, looking at the programme thread, a number of recent posts are from new viewers that have caught up via iPlayer and are now looking forward to the last couple of episodes (as am I!)

Early US ratings have Desperate Housewives 30% down from the same night last year and Pan Am sliding again by about 10% in households vs last week to now trail Brothers & Sisters performance last year by 27%. Its household rating performance thus far is 8.7/14, 5.8/10, 5.2/8, 4.7/8. The Good Wife is trending down quite a bit on the performance of Undercover Boss in that slot last year so not great news for CBS either.
A hastily rescheduled installment of X Factor (due to a last minute change on Wednesday) was way off its usual pace, down nearly 25% from Thursdays broadcast and will post distant series lows in viewers (below 9m definitely, possibly below 8m) and adults 18-49 (likely to be below 3.0). It now moves to Tuesday nights for a couple of weeks before returning to Wednesday/Thursday. NBC's football (which was a blowout) was down on what it usually does but still easily dominated the night.

I guess Desperate Housewives slipping isnt too surprising given that its the final season, still 30% is alot. Shame about Pan Am however, that showed early promise, and im surprised it isnt holding up.
Great figure for Countryfile at 6.8 million. Is it beyond the realms of possibility that it could be hitting towards 8 million towards Xmas time like it was doing IIRC last year?

Bjarne Thelin, Barb chief executive, told an industry conference earlier in October the ambition going forward is to combine its existing TV viewing figures with newer data, including requests for video from internet servers.
The conference was also told of gaps in Barb's knowledge and provided with an extreme example of how audiences can rack up from non-linear viewing.
A Doctor Who episode first broadcast on BBC1 in April, The Impossible Astronaut, had a live audience of 4.8 million, with a further 4.1 million using timeshifting.

Barb is pondering whether it is necessary to add a watermark label to broadcast programmes, to track whether adverts are watched in on demand programmes.

Interesting stuff. Simply staggering how much DW timeshifts. Didn't BARB introduce a new system in January 2010 to take in account 7-day viewings? It was alleged ratings were up 4% using the new system.

Tbf BBC can't even report on their own ****ing shows.
Aka - Moffgate and Doctor Who where they magiced up a massive issue that had been cleared up already!
And tbf to BBC reporters - there just from the same stock as everyone else. The Sun's story wasn't even the real figures they took it off a blog that actually ADDED a million to Saturday's rating!!
So them including the last breakdown is probs cause thats the figures they saw.
They are right on Strictly/X Factor though - ITV need to shift it. A media story is beginning to creep into existence and it has more reality and backing than the BGT rubbish - mainly cause despite crap reporting here and there...its got a basis in truth!
Also did we get breakdowns posted? I didn't see them anywhere...

Em - tbf it sounds a little high for Day Break - they go into the 700's sure but theyve had some dire months in there.
BBC guy said hes going to recheck - shall keep watching!
Not that it actually matters - Daybreak is still a flop no matter how its spun.
(when are ITV going to get a grip on their bad programming? Same goes to Holding Out for A Hero - why is it in that slot! They should have shifted it week 1 - replaced it with a repeat or something they have in the can (its ITV they always have SOMETHING))
On the Simon Cowell 'return' posts - nae chance, it'll be accpeting defeat for X Factor USA and I think any chance of Fox giving it another go (its actually not doing too bad tbh just not very good) would be out the window.
If he came back for even one week it would look weak.
One thing that could work - he gives the acts a song each. Challenging them. A Simoned themed week
But coming back AKA BGT style won't work - it'll look like panic stations and doesn't help the fact the X Factor is seeming stale - it'll only add to things.

I imagine they'll try and keep the cricket highlights. Football will be harder to replace but it frees the schedule of having on and off scheduling.
