You raise a good point about Frozen Planet. Generally speaking Wednesdays are quite weak for BBC1 and the way things are at the moment could cause Frozen Planet to take a hit. It's only really Waterloo Road that holds up 4m + audience on pre-watershed Wednesdays and even that is doing poorly at the moment.

As for Emmerdale, its two extra episodes on Wednesday (one last week and one this week) could also be due to I'm a Celebrity. I expect during IAC's final week, Emmerdale's Thursday 20.00 episode will be dropped due to a schedule of: 19.00- Emmerdale, 19.30- Tonight, 20.00- Corrie, 20.30- IAC. It's possible also that the penulimate Thursday of IAC will also be an extended 20.30-22.00 episode, therefore Emmerdale could be dropped that night too. Hence the two extra Wednesday episodes.”
Ah yes, that all makes sense. ITV have definitely put them in that Wednesday slot for a reason though. I am thinking they not only want Waterloo Road out of the 19:30 slot but they want it gone completely so they can run their own 8pm drama on Wednesday.

I have often wondered what the "90 second update" does to the ratings, there must surely be quite a lot of turn off during it. I don't recall seeing a drop in ratings when it was introduced though.
