Will these stories help fuel interest or have people going not this again and avoid it?

I don't have a clue what will happen with The X Factor and Strictly tonight. But be honest it's fascinating isn't it? I love this thread for moments like this!

My money's on Strictly to win tonight.

At the end of the day, it's not about the hype and manufactured controversy, it's about which show gives you the best entertainment. And the truth is that the acts on this year's X-Factor are rubbish.

Frozen Planet started with 5.89m at 21:00 and ended with 7.92m at 21:55 on Wednesday.

And provisional schedules for Saturday 12th November have Strictly on from 18:55 to 20:25 with The X Factor on from 20:15 to 21:45. I'm a Celebrity is on:

- 13/11 - 21:00 to 22:30
- 14/11 - 21:00 to 22:00
- 15/11 - n/a (Football)
- 16/11 - 20:30 to 22:00 clashes with Frozen Planet
- 17/11 - 21:00 to 22:00 clashes with Children in Need Rocks Manchester
- 18/11 - 21:00 to 22:00 clashes with Children in Need

Good ratings for Corrie, but I think ITV would have been hoping for higher shares in all honesty.

Does that mean Merlin moves to 6.10, in order to squeeze in Casualty before the Festival of Remembrance?

Decent ratings for Corrie considerably above the other two soaps, but that first episode should be getting a 40% share now imo. Maybe the second episode would have cleared 9m if it was advertised as the death of a huge character.

I expected slightly more for BB considering its been doing quite well this week. Good finish for The Bachelor though which I reckon will get a recomission. It's performed very steady and it's extremely rare for Ch5 to find an entertainment show consistently above 1m each week. I reckon it'll be paired with BB again next year too.

You can be as sarcy as you like, but clearly a lot of people liked it which is why it enjoyed such excellent retention across the run.

It's been an extremely consistent performer, thrashing Channel 4's rival offerings these past couple of weeks.

I am sure it will be back. Ultimate guilty pleasure TV.

6.05 BBC News
6.25 The Impressions Show
6.55 Strictly Come Dancing
8.20 Merlin
9.05 The National Lottery Draws
9.15 Festival of Remembrance

That's the thing about this thread. If Bachelor had been on ITV 1 then I doubt Dancc would have been praising it so highly. Had it been on BBC then Robbie would be under predicting what it would get and various people would be over predicting.

And in my opinion The Bachelor is just crap, not guilty pleasure.

I have been trying to be less partisan and more objective in my posts of late. Has nobody picked up on this?

I'm really surprised people aren't liking the XF acts this year, Personally I think it's the best bunch since the Alexandra Burke/JLS year. There are hardly any weak links.

The only thing I don't like is Kelly Rowland & Gary Barlow. Next years panel needs to be Simon, Nicole, Tulisa & Louis- or try and bring Danni back.

The return of Cowell. Seen some tweets saying he was coming back tonight.

Utterly awful figure for Pete Versus Life, and I imagine 8 Out of 10 Cats at 22:40 must have suffered very badly as a result afterwards. Surprised ITV was above 3 million at 9pm, I honestly expected Manilow to flop.

That is poor for a Big Brother eviction with Pete VS Life is ultimately flopping as well.

Surprised at the Barry Manilow rating as I thought that would flop terrifically while the BBC comedy lineup was as solid as ever.

All she is doing is taking part in a stupid game. I wonder what happens when she has a real problem to deal with.

Poor for the main 2 channels aside from the Soaps, Graham Norton was the exception (getting a MOTD type rating at 10.35pm.) Last time I saw a Barry Manilow concert on tv I was about 12 - seems quite a few fans wanted to see the 2011 version. The average on the DSRPG was 3.9m for BM - so it was actually below expectations.

Low ratings for Channel 4, steady ratings for BBC2 & Channel 5. Excellent for An Idiot Abroad, timeshifts amazingly also, the only programme that I watch on Sky One.

I was hoping for more for BB's 9pm show, but that's the best your going to get for the 11pm show, coming 2nd in its slot. Good for The Bachelor final.

Pete VS Life. Ouch.
