The rest of the episode, Ferreiras and all, was actually quite good but the kat thing was a bore.

I thought it was a good episode. Better than the past two 'event' weeks (the Millers arrival, Peggy returns), and I went on about how good they were, so. It was the narrative framing threads that held it together as a half hour of storytelling: like last tuesday had the 'bedtime' structure, this episode punctuated the events with the power-cut and the Miller kids dotting and darting around the Square.
The writing was actually good. And not in comparison to when it was bad, just plain good on any standard. The argument between Minty & Billy was good if only because it was so blunt. Kat's exit was poor (she didn't tell Charlie or Mo - who have been on a weekend holiday now for two weeks - or Zoe) but I liked it. The words fitted. And the scene at the foot of the stairs (where all the action seems to take place now), gave the episode and the show a strangely optimistic feel, where Kat promised to come back and when she did there'd be no more misery. Something to look forward to. The Millers I now firmly like, and Ghengis is just such a legend... but the others are working well in support, especially Rosie, Darren & Demi and the Bump. Good additions. Keith's softly spoken delivery could get on my tits, tho. But a good episode. |

she got into that taxi bloody fast.... she went out the back door, and when we cut to alfie, it was the same point in the song on in the pub..... and then he looks out of the window and she's already gone! She went out the back too making it even more unrealistic.

Also, I thought it was nice of her not to use the local cab firm. I know everyone important who leaves the Square does it in a black cab, but still. Bit of a kick in the teeth for the boozing Toucan's.

Jessie had to leave quick because she was rushed to hospital with pre-eclclympia which is high blood pressure and can be serious anyway I have to say The camera work around Kat was brilliant. They deserve medals for creative photography. I was wondering what trick they would use next to hide the fact that she's preg... ah but Kat isn't, is she? That's Jessie Wallace, so we're not supposed to know. It's a secret. Shhhhhhhhhh! |

Yeah I thought it was a crappy exit too. Obviously to get her out so she can look after her pregnancy after the scare.

I still thought it was strange how she never said goodbye to the family, even though shes back in 2 months!

I think both Loopy Lisa and alan45 are gunning for an argument and not taking note of the point: I thought Random Poster was suggesting that Kat leaving out the back door made it unrealistic that she'd get round to the cab in time for Alfie seeing it drive away. I thought it was quite a well done exit, story wise, even if I do hope this is the end of the Misery-Moons.
Strange how the quickly-written episodes to write a character out of the show seem to be laced with a little more adrenalin than the usual humdrum stuff. Den's turnaround exit in Chrissie's episode, and now this one. |

Well you didn't expect a full on exit with all the trimmings did you, she's going to be back in a couple of weeks! Jessie came back to work after her baby scare, it would have been pointless having a big exit for her if she's coming back in less than two months time. I'm sure she sent Zoe a text or something as presumably she's not going far.
Didnt' see all of tonights but what I did see I enjoyed, I've enjoyed EE overall for the past two weeks now, woohoo lol |

Anyone else think she's gone to stay with Belinda and this will pave the way for Lil Mo coming back?
