Holy shit! I can't describe how good this album is, and I've not been this impressed by an album for years.
We all know Amy Lee is a very talented writer, on top of being a beautiful woman who could probably give Adele a run for her money on the voice, but this is another level. Unbelievably good album from start to finish. Lost in Paradise is going to be a global chart killer. If this album doesn't get to number one I'll be shocked, but happy to see it racing off the shelves when I picked up a copy. Honestly think it's better than Fallen. Say no to medicority! Say no to Beiber, One Direction and Cher Lloyd. Say no to EuroDance and crap rap. Say yes to real talent. Only one track out on video so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVWaz...layer_embedded |

The first single "What you want" does sound quite mainstream, haven't heard the rest, but I think Fallen is definately better than "The open door" Amy and Ben Moody [like him or not] made a fantastic team.

Hated this band when I was younger. That hasn't changed.

Loving the album, hope it gets number 1. My Heart is Broken should be the next single with Lost in Paradise as a follow-up

This thread is a bit of a fail. People will come to read it, and just as they're about to go and check out the Evanescence album they read the OP rubbishing their favourite music.
That said, all the eurodance (Sweat, Beautiful People, We Found Love, Mr. Saxobeat, Who's That Chick?, etc.) dominating the chart this year IS getting very out of hand. But still, people who like that music aren't going to think much of Evanescence fans now... |

In fairness, Evanesance are pretty bloody mediocore.
Mediocore rock, as opposed to mediocore examples of other genres.

I'm sure there's some childish insult in there somewhere .. oh well ..
"Oh my god, someone wasn't objective about X Factor rejects dominating the charts. I need to post my disgust immediately." Or as you noted, in a clearly non-childish manner: "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" (Deary me). |

I liked their Daredevil song....Wake Me Up In Time? or something i loved that one.
Havent heard their new material at all but i never understood their appeal or the fact they are "real music" kinda ranked me as absurd! But their new album has had better reviews than their other two i have JUST read for some research on metacritic and wiki . Hmmm but think i will give a miss!

Oh dear. Lighten up, or don't bother bumping threads you seem to get so offended over. It's the internet, calm the frak down yeah?
![]() It is indeed the internet so we can all take flying leaps towards conclusions that have no basis in reality based on someone doing nothing more than disagreeing with us. So with that in mind, I'm apparently angry, offended and even disgusted as well ? Super .As it is indeed the internet, I can certainly assure you that I have never been angry, offended and disgusted by a simple case of music snobbery. I wouldn't want to waste my time and effort getting in such a tizzy over someone on the end of a keyboard that i'll likely never meet. If you actually knew me, you'd know that i'd actually much rather try to encourage people to open their minds to all forms of music. But hey, it's all good. It's a free country so you're clearly free to stick to your chosen genre and deride any other genre as not being "real". That's the beauty of music I s'pose. |

Blimey, let's not go overboard. She's a good singer in a terrible band, but she's no Nina Simone or Billie Holliday. |

Much better to get the real thing. check out Chelsea Wolfe's new album "Apokalypsis" for something with a bit more bite. |

It's "crap" in your opinion. I don't particularly love or hate that kind of music but unlike some, I won't go around telling people what music they should or shouldn't listen to. If they buy it and enjoy it then they shouldn't be attacked for not buying "real" music... Oh, and I'm not directing this at anyone, just a general statement

I honestly have a ridiculously wide music taste, and I take great offence to the fact that you don't think that I personally can't listen to 'proper rock'... please feel free to list what you constitute as 'PROPER' rock music so I can tell you whether I think that that is 'real music', or 'good enough' for me to listen to. Talk about being judgemental. The title of this thread is pretty ridiculous in itself, it is nice to see something other than euro-pop-dance-rnb or whatever this new 'genre' is that's been around for the past couple of years, topping the album chart - but that's no reason to diminish any other acts. |

![]() This is their heaviest album yet, without a doubt. Very riff-orientated with some seriously thunderous drumming. A bit short on guitar solos and technicality to be considered a "tr00" heavy-metal record, but it's certainly their best album. |
