Going to watch it this weekend. Hope it doesn't suck.

The book is not literature, but it's good in capturing a particular kind of voice.

I really enjoyed it and would see it again. We missed the beginning, though probably only about 5 or 10 minutes. We thought that we had timed it perfectly.

It has a great soundtrack too! I still have "Heroes" by David Bowie in my head.

She is in flashbacks.

I had read the book beforehand but I totally forgot that

That's a big plot line to forget about!
I'd totally forgotten about that plot line too, and still can't remember reading it But having just got back from seeing it i have to say i totally loved it! You really grow to love the characters and actually care about them. Really touching film and one of the best i've seen this year.

So I watched it and t'was scary good: 8/10

Emma Watson is the weakest link. I saw Percy Jackson and I was skeptical but he was great.

The advanced english part made me laugh because I just started taking that and those classroom scenes are in my life.

Watched it today, it definitely does the book justice. It's a good thing the author directed the film, it's faithful to the important themes in the book. The main three charachters did a great job. Emma Watson's accent wasn't terrible and I practically forgot that it was the same person who played Hermione Granger for ten years.

One of the best films I've seen this year.9/10

Main three leads outstanding, even Emma, {accent good}, hadn't read the book, so didn't have a clue, how it was all going to turn out.

It was a sort of Almost Famous, but with out the....

But what was the significance of the Beatles song Something, the one Charlie gave Sam?

One thing freaked me out, cinema was packed with young girls.
Just one couple there, about my age.

This was pretty much the same way I felt. But I did read the book loved it but was concerned about the film. Shouldn't have been saw the film 2 days ago and loved it. Didn't want it to end. From writing to directing to acting was all great. So far would definatly go in my top 5 films of the year. I totally get what you mean, it does have a Almost Famous (which is one of my favourite films) vibe to it.

With the Beatles - Something been a very long time since I read the book but Charlie listened when he was younger. Just googled it -

I was asked to go to see this yesterday without any knowledge of what it was about, other than it had Emma Watson in it. I was pretty much expecting an abysmal rom-com, but I have to say I really was pleasantly surprised. I thought the film was very moving if a little cliche'd in parts, I didn't see a certain plot point coming at all, and I thought it was very well acted. That includes Emma who had a decent American accent. The whole film was at the back of my mind until I went to bed and I'll definitely be re-watching at some point. Oh, and I loved the soundtrack. 'Heroes' is my favourite David Bowie song.

I'm not a much of a movie buff, but I'd definitely say it's one of the best movies I've seen this year .

god i completely didnt get he'd been abused!! apart from at the end where he said "...when they told my parents what helen did to me" was it hinted at anywhere else?

all 3 leads were great.

Didn't actually hear the song on the soundtrack; I'm thinking, it would have cost to much for the producers, to put in.

I feel like I was the only person who didn't like it. Too many inspirational cheesy lines, and it was one of the most hipster-ry things I've ever laid eyes on.

Finally saw this a couple of days ago and absolutely loved it. Logan Lerman was fantastic as Charlie. Two scenes that really stuck out of me were when Charlie hands everyone their presents at christmas and when he tells Sam about his friend killing himself. I also love the line: "I know these will all be stories some day. And our pictures will become old photographs. We'll all become someone's mom or dad. But right now these moments are not stories. This is happening."

It's a film that really makes you think about life and the people you share it with. Definitely one I'm going to buy.

I thought about this whilst watching it. I think it's that more than anything that made me tear up a few times

I watched this again last night and enjoyed it just as much. I cried a bit more this time (sobbed at the end, which didn't happen in the cinema. .

The DVD is released on the 11th February. I've pre-ordered it

Anyone else going to be adding it to their DVD collection?
