Taken 2
http://uk.movies.ign.com/articles/120/1200222p1.html
Best known for his roles in Batman Begins and Snatch, Sherbedgia will play the father of a kidnapper killed by Liam Neeson's character Bryan Mills in the first film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story will revolve around Murad taking Mills and his wife hostage, with their daughter having to step up and save them. Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace will return for the sequel, which will be directed by Olivier Megaton from a script by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. Release date is October 5, 2012. His daughter will have to save him? The same daughter who was painfully awful in the first film? They really took that criticism on board ![]() Negatives aside, the first film was brilliant once the violence kicked in. Hope the sequel is better than it sounds. |

As long as she gets zappy with the six-inch nails all will be well.

I was so up for this since the first film was easily one of the finest action thrillers in years, but I've suddenly gone right off it. His daughter having to save him?
No! No! NO! |

Yeah.. much would have preferred to see Liam Neeson again kicking ass.
However, Luc Beeson and Olivier Megaton do have a decent enough history writing female leads, Leon was awesome and Columbania wasn't too bad either. Still optomistic

Maggie Grace isn't the most talented actress around, I imagine Neeson will still be dishing out the majority of the skelpings.

Hopefully there will be a trailer soon. Something to reassure us that it won't be a steaming pile of crap. |

Ack. I was really looking forward to this, but it will be a total joke if that airhead of a daughter is supposed to save her Rambo of a father.
Taken was a fantastic, old school action film. Harsh, violent with lots of real stunts. It could have been like a new Die Hard franchise for the modern era. That ain't happening if the tough guy is a victim and the hero is an idiot schoolgirl. |

I hope her contribution to saving her parents is getting together Liam Neeson's team from the first movie - otherwise he's in trouble.

About a month ago, i would have been agreeing with everyone on this thread about Maggie Grace and what a duff plot this is ...
However ... After seeing her in "Lockout", she can easily do a kick-ass role and carry a film. Trust me. You may be surprised ... ![]() Anyway, I can't see them sidelining the Neeson character for a large part of the film ... |

But how would that fit with the character from the first film?

As far as I know, Liam Neeson's character rings her and tells her he and her mum are going to be "Taken" (much like the 1st film scene) he then instructs her what to do, and she ends up freeing them and then he takes over as ass kicker... So ya, probably not going to be as bad as many think

Yeah as long as Liam gets to kick some arse it will be ok. Reminds me of The Transporter movies.. should have stopped at 1 but the others are watchable for some laid back non serious kicking arse entertainment.
Maybe they could do a 'Taken Transporter' where Liam and Jason team up. |

![]() They could easily come up with some soppy excuse to toughen up the character. I'd pay to see Neeson and Grace kick ass in tandem ..

After watching the trailer i'm still skeptical as to whether the film can deliever. The action is there but the storyline feels really weak.

I agree. I also saw Lockout and thought it was a great film. Total B-movie but still lots of fun and she was good in it. I like Maggie Grace so i'm not gonna knock this.

Just seen it and it looks good. I don't think his daughter has to save him though - i think she's on the run from the people after her.
obviously you're not going to re-create "that" line .. the "i will look for you, i will find you and i will kill you" line, but i'll see it purely based on how good the first one was. |

i thought taken was the most brain dead crap i have ever seen. such a racist pile of crap too.
haha "you are about to be taken" - err how the eff did he know that?? haha as if white slave traders hang round the airport waiting to pick up rich white american girls. that scene with all the girls strung out on heroin in the tents was hysterical. this looks evem worse "your mother is about to be taken" |
