Kathleen Hutchison, Holby City Producer is to replace Louise Berridge as Exec Producer of EastEnders. Now, I dont watch Holby and have never seen it. So I'm just creating this thread to hear what all you guys who do watch Holby think of her taking over at EastEnders.

Also, if you were the head of BBC Drama, who would you have given the job to?

I think Holby is great- it's got some fab characters and has had some triffic storylines over the last few years... so this is good news for me...

You should watch it

Let's hope she can persuade Jeremy Sheffield to come to Walford....mmm.....

I've watched dribs and drabs...I watched a lot of the serial killer storyline. It can definitely do great tense drama and make good use of its characters. A normal soap is a different ball game though...

I've always thought the staff storylines were the key to Holby though...much more so than Casualty..

There have been some really moving stories- Chrissie's baby dying, Alex Adam's Parkinsons... and a succession of brilliant soap bitches and villains.. all of which could have worked in or outside of a hospital....

The hospital is just the setting, like the square. I don't think it will prove too great leap.

You never know - she might commission lots of Sonia at work scenes to smooth the transition

What was her track record on Holby? Did she oversee the serial-killer story? I don't really watch it, but my mum certainly thought that was a good plot. Which, I suppose, is good. Hmmm. Anyways, what's on her Holby CV?

I think she should bring Mark Fowler back from the dead. That would be a real ratings booster ..............................................................

I've always preferred Casualty myself but I dunno, maybe she might be able to bring Eastenders back. I stopped watching it after the climax to the 'You ain't my muvva' storyline; the four days a week depression got too much! I think a comedy element would be a good introduction...

I don't remember the Den/Angie christmas papers thing as I was only two months old but after seeing it numerous times, maybe they could introduce two strong characters who were as compelling. I think Kat and Alfie had the potential (When I caught it)... until they just went a bit soppy!

I think Chris Parker and his merry band of sh*t actors are going to be soiling themselves right now, as the prospect of getting axed looms over their heads.

Much as I can’t stand him, I get the impression that Christopher Parker is a BBC favourite – he has a massive teen following and then there’s the whole Come Dancing thing… I doubt even the EP will be able to persuade the channel to axe him.. crap or not…

Let's hope that I'm wrong tho.....

I’d keep Martin (because it’s nice to have a few ultra long term characters in a show) and Dennis (because I fancy him!)… but I’d add Andy Hunter. I’m assuming the god-awful Sharon and Vicky are only absent because they’re already going…?!

Bring back Janine!!

I would so love it if she waltzed in there and sacked Nigel Harman. Christopher Parker would be even better.

Just because he's a "hearttrhob" ( ), that's no excuse for employing someone with such shoddy acting. They can EASILY bring in some new, young good looking guy..

Andy is set to die later this year or early next year, and ive not included Sharon and Vicki cos they are going!

would love to see Janine back - Charlie Brooks (heavily pregnant) is looking sensational recently!

That is great news!

(The Andy bit... altho I'm sure it's great news for Charlie Brooks that she looks sensational!)

How fantastic would it be to see Janine back and cleared, looking for revenge on Pat... they'd have to get Frank back for a bit too, just to really stir things up!!
